Hubby and I share a cottage in NE WI with our in-laws and I get VERY afraid when I'm by myself with the kids and dog. The fact that we were robbed last August doesn't help.
Oh yeah, I'm 40! I can deal with deer and bears but a toothless monger creeps me out. It's all in my head but I can't help it!
Kinda like your fear!

I'm sorry you guys were robbed! Are you ok?
Go back to the Porch, I sort of agree w/you a little bit. The story about the show is now being posted online!"...like a word misplaced, nothing said, what a waste.."

i'm 29 and just recently got used to the dark in my own place. but i don't like the darkness when i'm outside. i'm not too bad indoors, but i do have moments when i freak myself out. at my parents house i still get a bit scared in the dark because that house is just scary, but i'm not as scared as i used to be.No need to be void, or save up on life...

wtf are you typing about? thread integrity? Here? online?
we were robbed... the thieves left the television on the front porch. I drove up ahead of hubby and the kids... skipped around the corner to see my television sitting on the stairs!!! I called 911 and it took 30 minutes for someone to arrive! I balled like a baby ( good thing the officer was smoking hot!)---
yeah, I'm afriad of the dark when my screams for help would go unnoticed. Sleeping with a thick knife helps.0 -
I'm still afraid of the dark. It shows no signs of stopping.Stop following me, I do not know where I am going.0

I'm 24 and sleep with a light on.0

I'm 33 and terrified of the dark, because of what I cannot see.
I tell myself it is irrational, but my heart rate continues to climb as I search for a light switch.
Hell, I've nearly been in tears when I've been the last to leave an office - shutting out all of the lights, looking down long dark hallways then running to a car in a desolate parking lot.
I also torture myself by watching scary movies. If a movie looks really scary, I'll go to the theater by myself to see it, just to make things that much worse.Walking can be a real trip

I'm ok most of the time, but then sometimes I just get freaked out when I have to turn off the lights and go upstairs and go to bed. :rolleyes:yeh me too. Even if I'm not watching telly, when I decide to switch off the light and go to sleep, I turn on the telly so I can have that light on the way back to my bed... which is approximately 2 steps away  I'm fine most of the time but the odd time I just get this sudden case of the shivers and freak out a bit and jump into bed and pull the covers over my head til I calm down

I keep a hurling stick beside the bed... just for peace of mind... cos one night I was alone and heard noises and was looking around thinking there's nothing here I could even use... so now generally it's not just the hurling stick... there are a few items beside my bed that could also serve as a blunt object

I'm not afraid of the dark, but at 25, I'm still afraid of mirrors most of the time.0

I'm 34 and afraid of the dark. I've always been. I refuse to watch scary movies cause I just freak myself out all night long if I do. Ever since my ex and I split I've starting leaving the lights on downstairs when I go to bed...which is crazy cause if there ever was an intruder I'm the one that would have had to protect us anyway
I sleep much better during the day.
