Is anyone else kind of still afraid of the dark just a little bit? :o

I'm ok most of the time, but then sometimes I just get freaked out when I have to turn off the lights and go upstairs and go to bed. :D

I'm not really embarrassed about it, but the :o face seemed most appropriate for the post. I think it's kind of funny. :D My sister's the same way.

I totally am. I will admit it! When I have to go downstairs at work to the basement, which is fully finished and very nice I am always terrified because its not my house and its pitch black, so I run down there with my heart racing till I get to the switch.

i love the darkness. Nothing like sitting outside in my patio swing late at night (i live way out in the country, no houses behind me). It's relaxing to me!

Does it get worse after you see a scary movie? lol :D I'm such a baby.

The trailer for The Strangers has me all worked up since I watched yesterday. :D But I still want to watch the movie. I never learn. :D;)

I have an overactive imagination and at times will get the best of me. I can manipulate a reflection in a window to look like a person peering in at me. Or, the shadow of headlights crossing my bedroom to appear as a spirit or spectre.

I've spent many a night letting my imagination scare the shit out of me in the dark. And I'm 30. And male. But I pee sitting down.
I'm so dangerous I smoke dynamite.

I feel scared just living in such a "remote" area compared to wear I used to live in Chicago. There were so many lights and while I think it kind of sucks to have so much light pollution...it was NEVER dark in my apartment and I miss that. :o

Booo, you can't see the stars in the city. I think I'd miss that.

Ooh! Keep me posted if you do! I'd love to meet you!

Back to the dark. If josh is not home when I go to bed for some reason, I go up to bed and leave all the lights and the TV on.. And I make all my cats come with me. I pity the fool that tries to rob me and my attack cats :)

    I don't like the dark and I'm 30...something ;) !
I turn the lights out but I have the light from my cable box and cable modem that shine in the background.
And I know what you mean, if I am in a suburb or somewhere else quiet (like upstate), I have a hard time sleeping, it's 'too quiet' I like hearing the trains and planes flying over my head (I live near the airport!)

I grew up in New Mexico, and gosh, the stars in the sky were so beautiful. I do really miss seeing the night sky out here. It's so light sometimes.

lol, that's the fucked up thing. I don't really truly believe in ghosts and stuff. But, if they do exist...I just KNOW one's gonna pop up in my house sometime! :D

I'm more scared of home invasions and stuff. That is my biggest fear as of late, since we moved to suburbia...because our street seems so dark and yada yada yada...I'm just really good at finding stuff to worry about.

Yeah I would leave the lights on, too in that situation. Sometimes I leave one in the kitchen on anyway, and just pretend I forgot to turn it off. ;)

Oh the planes that fly overhead are SO loud sometimes that I get scared that they're too low and that they're going to crash. We're pretty close to the airport, too.

Do you have an alarm system, J? My Mom got ADT and she sleeps much better with the alarm on.
I grew up on Long Island but I feel like it was much safer when we were growing up. We used to leave the car doors open and we had one tiny little lock.

Normally, I would step in and defend my area here, but a few weeks ago a woman in the neighborhood was killed in her home in the middle of the day, so I'll just shut up and go check to make certain that my windows are locked. :(

I never have that thought! Eek that would be horrible. God Forbid. I can see the planes about ready to land when I walk down my street.

oh no wonder you are unnerved. I suppose it doesn't help you to tell you my apt was robbed. That was almost 10 yrs ago and Thank God, I was not home.

No, but I'd like to get one eventually. We have a lot of locks, actually, because the elderly woman who owned this house before us was extremely paranoid (to the point that the windows were nailed shut, there were two fences, etc...). I would like to get an alarm system, though.

Still spooked by complete darkness here and especially after a scary movie. :D

Yeah, I mean...I was like this before, but, I'll admit this made it much worse.

I'm glad you weren't home when you were robbed!
