oh god you got to go there? *swooooon*

on my list of places to go is amsterdam, and i know i'm gonna head straight to the van gogh museum (okay maybe stop at a cafe along the way first hehe)

    here's the flower i drew :)

Oh!! I love it!! :) I especially like how you got that "droopy" kind of look happening chiq! Just like they do! Awesome drawing! :)

hehe!! yeah, don't get too caught up in the "cafes"!! There's a lot of them!! You'll never get to the Museum!! ;)

It's pretty amazing! So much amazing art to see! And pretty surreal! You know to be standing there in front of stuff! The actual stuff he painted! :)
    NOPE!!!

haha yeah i could see myself getting sucked into those cafes. so easily :o lol

and yeah i've seen his stuff in person, it's incredible, the depth and texture. it's one thing to see pictures but to be in front of it and see the brushstrokes, the thickness of the paint.....ahhhhhhhhhh!

    i love this one http://www.metmuseum.org/Works_of_Art/viewOnezoom.asp?dep=11&zoomFlag=0&viewmode=1&item=49%2E41

hehe!! :D Well they are pretty prolific around the streets of Amersterdam. I have had friends that thought they'd just pop in for a look and can't remember much else after that of their stay!! :D

Oh if you go you must go to Rembrandthaus too! :)

I love that part of a painting, to be able to get up close and see how the light is painted and how the brushstrokes at up to the image!

I love that one too and just amazing that he painted it over 140 years ago and it still looks relevant today! :)

all depends on perspective i guess....from that shot it looks bad but what really counts is when you were under it! :) where is it?

yeah, it's pretty cool to see in person. i wanted to do the maid of the mist, or even walk behind the falls, but i had my kids with me and i didn't want to scare them too much. maybe next time. we only live about 3 hours away and my wife and i have been talking about going back within the next couple years.

ah well i can see how that could be intense for little ones! that's nice it's so close. i go out to visit family in jersey but i'd like to make a side trip up there someday

just remember, no matter how long it takes you to go there, it'll be worth it. and make sure you spend more of your time on the canadian side. the views of the falls are 100% better than on the american side, plus there's a shitload of more things to do on the canadian side.
