The show's website says that the actress that plays Karen is still just a guest star. :)
drivingrl: "Will I ever get to meet Gwen Stefani?"
kevinbeetle: "Yes. When her career washes up and her and Gavin move to Galveston, you will meet her at Hot Topic shopping for a Japanese cheerleader outfit.

    Next!"

Am I the only one wondering what is gonna happen with Dwight? I mean, obviously they can't get rid of him cause he's Dwight, but I mean, how do you bring somebody back after they quit?
And before his first step... He's off again...

agreed. I liked him a lot, but now the Dwight thing is kinda over the top.

Michael seemed a little out of character in a few scenes too, he was too mature:p

mature....like when he made the computer say 'boobs' or threw phyllis' keys under the car....hahaha. :p

i know what you mean, but i think they throw in those parts every now and then just to show that michael has his good moments. like at the convention episode where he actually made that sale....
  • turns out i have a friend who has a place up on Lake Walapompach (sp?).

i like how they actually through in real scranton names. rest stops, restaurants, etc...

I took Michael's being serious as part of the fact that he's supposed to be a great salesman.

Yeah. Very similar to when he was getting pumped up for his review with Michael. But not quite as funny as when he was in his car listening to "everybody hurts".

exactly. hes not a regional manager for nothing. i joke around with my boss all the time too, but whenever we have meetings with clients, she is all business and quite impressive.

and i agree with the dwight vs. andy shit needs to stop NOW. this episode was such a relief with no jim/pam crap but instead they focus on this.

I love the beginning when they show all the places in Scranton. I went to high school in Scranton so it is cool. The only exception is Hooters, there is no Hooters near Scranton. Great show.

    what school? i'm a wshs alum. :)

they took down the "scranton welcomes you" sign, though...replaced it with a cheesy looking one that says "scranton, welcome home". blech.

there also isn't a Chili's in Scranton, theres one 20-30 min away in Wilkes Barre, but not in Scranton as they imply in the show. Of course it won't be perfect, but it's still great for those of us who live here. Most of you may not know this, but the show is littered with subtle references that make it all the funnier for us from the area.

I thought last Thursday's "Travelling Salesmen" was superb. A real return to form, several seriously 'laugh out loud' moments

  • It would be cool if all the references were accurate, but it's all about product placement. Chili's and Hooters, and even Benihana pay a boatload of money to be used in the show.

Oh yeah we don't have a Benihana or a Hooter's by the way. However, there is some seriously accurate stuff. In the third episode of the first season(I believe), Michael has a brochure for a local coal mine tour. In several episodes there are references to radio stations such as Rock107 and somebody has a Froggy 101 sticker near their desk. The oft-mentioned Farley's and Poor Richard's are actual restaurants in Scranton. They mention Hoban, which is a school near Scranton, in Wilkes Barre. They once mentioned Carbondale, which is an area near Scranton. In the Casino Night episode Creed can be seen stealing a candy bar from a vending machine, if you look closely it is a Gertrude Hawk candy bar, which is a chain that is only in certain areas of the northeast, including many around here. I'm pretty sure in the Booze Cruise episode they went to Lake Wallenpaupack, which, while not in Scranton, is nearby. The photos in the theme song are actually of Scranton by the way.

That's all I remember right now, if I come up with anymore I'll post em. As you can see, there are indeed tons of accurate references, a lot of which are great inside jokes for us who live here haha.
