Oh yeah we don't have a Benihana or a Hooter's by the way. However, there is some seriously accurate stuff. In the third episode of the first season(I believe), Michael has a brochure for a local coal mine tour. In several episodes there are references to radio stations such as Rock107 and somebody has a Froggy 101 sticker near their desk. The oft-mentioned Farley's and Poor Richard's are actual restaurants in Scranton. They mention Hoban, which is a school near Scranton, in Wilkes Barre. They once mentioned Carbondale, which is an area near Scranton. In the Casino Night episode Creed can be seen stealing a candy bar from a vending machine, if you look closely it is a Gertrude Hawk candy bar, which is a chain that is only in certain areas of the northeast, including many around here. I'm pretty sure in the Booze Cruise episode they went to Lake Wallenpaupack, which, while not in Scranton, is nearby. The photos in the theme song are actually of Scranton by the way.

That's all I remember right now, if I come up with anymore I'll post em. As you can see, there are indeed tons of accurate references, a lot of which are great inside jokes for us who live here haha.

He really is an angry character. the cell phone shit was great tonight.... I think Karen and Andy are out and we'll be back to the original cast...

I have to disagree... I think tonight was one of the best episodes of the season.. I would like to see Andy and Dwight go at it for a few more episodes until Andy just goes absolutely nuts and quits or gets fired..

  • I miss when Michael was annoying though. Hopefully he'll be himself next week. (is it a new one?)

I thought the best part of tonite's ep. was Dwight. Him working at Staples was hilarious! Other then that the ep. was basically...meh.

I liked Andy and Karen before the merger, but I've liked them less and less as the episodes go on.

Andy is funny when he's angry, but I find him annoying when he constantly acts like a weaker Michael Scott like he did this episode.

yea you probably dont get the show..the last 2 episodes have been vintage office, real fans appreciate it

its nice to have a show that you need to appreciate the nuances

also according to NIELSEN the Office is network television's most upscale comedy, delivering primetime's #1 concentration of adults 18-49 living in homes with $100,000-plus incomes.
Let's not be negative now. Thumper has spoken
  • I liked tonight's episode. I have always liked Andy. If he goes, he'll be missed, but welcomed back to the Daily show. He came back a few weeks ago, but hasn't been on in a while. I knew Andy was gonna flip, like when his calculator was jello'd. ( think it was his calculator, maybe a stapler?)
I really wanted to see Jim ask Stanley if he wanted to be in on the prank.

Wasn't the music playing when Michael walked into Staples to get Dwight the muzak version of Up Where We Belong? Nice reference to AN Officer and A Gentleman when Michael went to get Dwight.

When Michael first entered staples, my wife asked if this was going to be just like an officer and a gentleman, but for the life of me I couldn't pick out the song. I'm pretty sure you are correct. Hilarious. Very subtle, but very funny.

Kevin is quickly becoming my favorite part of this show.
  • I loved it when Dwight tossed off his Staples shirt with overexaggerated effort when he quit...

... and no one in the store noticed or cared.
