It doesn't look pretty this year. At least Punto (aka McSuckin) didn't make the opening day lineup. I'm intrigued by what Gomez and Young will bring to the lineup and how they'll mesh with Mauer, Morneau, and Cuddyer.
The pitching staff scares me.
Hey, at least we have a new stadium next to a garbage burner opening in two seasons!

No longer overwhelmed it seems so simple now.

I think it's still up in the air at this point. They may be waiting for one more outing in spring training, but from what I read, the last one went pretty well so they think he might be the 4th starter.

Good thing I didn't have time to watch the whole thing tonight. I'm sure this won't be the only game like this during the season.
We won't.
You guys shoulda kept him.
Are they really not putting a roof on that thing?

Nope. Are there roofs on the other stadiums in the AL Central?
Well I think you know the answer to that one. And yes there is. It's called the Metrodome. Ever heard of it? What's your point anyway?

I meant other than the Twins' CURRENT stadium which was not part of the discussion.
My point is that it's just as cold in the early/late weeks of the season in Minneapolis as it is in Chicago, Detroit, and Cleveland for the most part. Baseball is meant to be watched outside. Even if there was a retractable roof, it doesn't really seem like you're sitting outside when in a stadium like that (Milwaukee, Arizona, etc).
Detroit still blows. Whoop-de-sh*t you won your first home game! Still the worst record in MLB. Both teams played bad and neither deserved to win.
I don't have high expectations. Twins will win 70-75 this year and finish 3rd or 4th (it's only going to take 85 wins to nab the central). Mauer is basically a weak singles hitter with almost annoying amounts of patience (screw all the walks Joe! Turn on some of those inside pitches for doubles!)
2010 will be good though!

Agreed. Friggin awful last night.
This race is going down to the final series with the sux.
That's fine, everyone here is from Boston or NY.
All that matters is:
Sux- 66-52
Twins- 66-53
Oh yeah NYY = 64-56
9-6 YANKS LAST NIGHT AND SEASON SERIES IS ALL YANKS
TWINS WIN AGAIN!!!
We're comin', we're comin'!!!!
Go Royals vs the Sux tonight!
Yeah, the 3 month "lull" is kinda hard to explain. Sox and Yanks fans are posting every fucking day! I believe the Latin is "ad nauseum"

That's ok, at least we don't have to cheat to win.
Our bullpen is f'ing terrible. When will Gardy realize that he can use Nathan in other innings besides the 9th when we're ahead?
Our bullpen still blows.
Only a 1/2 game back but I'm not optimistic here. No chance to get the WC (Yankees may even yet push past the Twins there). The Twins will probably only win 10 or so more games and finish a respectable 2nd. Considering I thought they'd win 70-75 that's not too shabby. Plus even if they did make it this team wouldn't last 10 minutes in the playoffs (barring some miraculous 2007 Colorado Rockies type run). Would've been nice if the front office had made a little better effort in procuring a right-handed power bat and some more bullpen help.
Oh and f*ck the White Sox I'm cheering for the Rays!

Seriously, if it was a Twins, Cubs World Series.. I'd root for the Twins.
