They really did a shitty job. Yeah, I know everyone says the Big 10 is down this year, and I'm not doubting that they are. The 4 teams that did get in, and only those 4 deserved to, are fairly decent teams. Still Wisconsin as a 3 seed is a joke. They won their conference outright and won their conference tournament. They should have been a 2 seed over Texas based on the fact they beat them head to head and had a better record. They were 6 and 8 respectively in the polls coming into this week, and won out this week with a handful of teams ahead of them losing. They got snubbed cause everyone is dogging on the Big Ten. Complete BS.
Also Butler as a 7 seed. They were ranked in the top 10. WTF. Are you saying Butler isn't as good as Oklahoma and is on par with Miami FL. They really sucked off the Pac 10 and Big 12 this year. Arizona and Oregon didn't deserve to go. Arizona was 8-10 in conference, how does that qualify as one of the best 34 at large teams?
Despite the facts that the pairings are BS, I can't wait for Thursday!! GO BADGERS, BIG 10 CHAMPS!!!

So who wants to have a BBS tourney? I'm too busy to run one myself, but a lot of y'all seem to have a lot of time on your hands.

Really, did you win your conference AND conference tourney? Also, you remember a guy named Michael Flowers hitting a 3 at your place and then getting a big steal to secure the win. I do, one of the best moments of the year!!! Have fun with a first weekend exit cause your lame ass hook em' horns are OVERRATED!!!

GO HEELS!!!!!!!!!
i don't know about that with Va. Tech. It was valiant of them to almost beat UNC but the only major conference team they beat was St. John's and plus they lost to Butler and Gonzaga. If they split those games, that gives them 20 and they're probably in.

i know im just saying when va tech beat maryland maryland had a high rpi
but then they went downhill so did their rpi
so that win isnt as impressive as when it happened
gotcha, but i'm pretty sure the non-conference games and who teams play factors in more than conference games. that might explain why arizona gets in despite a losing record - they lost to both kansas and memphis.

I'm very happy that the Tar Heels, my other team, got the #1 overall seed. Hopefully, the path to the Final 4 isn't that hard for them.
GO EAGLES!! GO TAR HEELS!!
this should be heart stopping ...... TAR.............................HEELS
The main thing that jumps out to me in this bracket is that it looks like the committee wants to force a few 10 seed over 7 seed upsets. Miami vs St. Mary's (in Little Rock), neither team close to home and a very winnable game for St Mary's. Butler vs South Alabama in Birmingham. Gonzaga vs Davidson (NC) in Raleigh. West Va vs Arizona. All the 10 seeds are very capable of winning those games and 2 (S. Alabama and Davidson) are playing really close to home.
I DONT UNDERSTAND ARIZONA ST.
they beat zona twice like u said and they still out
georgia did screw one of those teams over
va tech was on the bubble totally
but when u see them play the heels so tough and almost beat them
u think they would be good for the tourney
oh well who cares lol
What killed Va Tech was their 1-7 record against the top 50. Syracuse should have went in before them. If Va Tech would have beaten UNC, they would have probably gotten in over Nova, but they didn't so that makes the point moot.

VA Tech's best win this season was over Miami. They played UNC tough, but didn't win. . They have a good ACC record because they beat up on the bottom tier teams in the league. They only played UNC, Duke and Clemson once each in the regular season.....and lost all 3 games. I don't see anything that says they should have gotten in.
it also doesn't help that va. tech's most notable non-conference win was over St. John's. That might have helped circa 1985 but definitely not now.

Well, what helped is Pitt and Temple winning the Big East and A-10 respectively instead of G-town and St. Joe's.
They were 2-0 against Pitt and Temple and scored over a hundred at Temple while going 0-3 against G-Town and St. Joe's and losing by 22 to St. Joe's.
The wins over the Big East and A-10 champions is what separated them from the rest of the bubble teams.

i usually pick a big east team to win it all...just not sure this year. MAYBE georgetown, but i'm just not feeling them...
well feel free to feel me! I mean my team!
(dives for cover under desk)
I think Georgetown can make a deep run like last year because they are tournament tested.
The only other Big East team I can see making a big run is Louisville. Though I will be rooting against them hard as I am a Boise State fan in football - how can you not love the blue turf? And hopefully St. Joe's beats Oklahoma and then they'd have to face Louisville. I just think Louisville is the kind of team that can get hot and Pitino is a great tournament coach. I can see them making a lot of noise in this tourney much to Fanch's delight.

St. Joe's was getting a LOT of love last night on the bracketology show. I'll be picking them. Nova and Louisville are dangerous. I can't believe all the love the huskies got last night and were even labeled 'dangerous'. Just because we have an ex-thief and a couple of pot smokers doesn't mean we have to labeled as dangerous, does it?
The reason for all the love is that St. Joe's causes a ton of matchup problems because their two best three point shooters are a 6'11 SF who was recruited as a pg/sg but grew a foot in high school after signing on for a scholarship to St. Joe's and a 6'9 PF who shoots almost 45% from 3.
I know you're a UConn fan, but I can't see a scenario with them getting past the Sweet 16.
If Nova can get by Clemson, I think they make the 2nd weekend. Vanderbilt does not scare me much and personally I think the seeds for Vandy and Clemson should be reversed.

Btw, look for a Temple upset over Michigan State. Tipoff in Denver is at 10:30 am local time. Temple used to practice 6 am under Cheyney so for the Seniors and Juniors a 10:30 start is like an easy day for them. Michigan State may not be able to get going so early in front of probably a new empty arena.
