    I feel for her. I bet she was really nervous, the pressure was on and I know that feeling when there is a whole crowd looking at you waiting for a response to a random question. It looks like she had some potential responses in her head, and got confused when her heart started beating and the blood pressure went up.

    I say give her a break and try public speaking! Not everyone can do it comfortably. :)

    I think that you're probably right about her being under the pressure and getting too nervous. Someone in the MT thread said they thought that she might have rehearsed a couple of answers using those places, but the question didn't match her response and she got flustered, which led to her actual answer.

    And what does South Africa and Iraq have to do with that question?

    I don't know what I would answer it but I think it is hard to come up with an answer on the spot on live television, it's a high pressure situation. I'd probably say something about how teachers aren't paid enough and with the large class sizes maybe sometimes geography isn't focused on in classrooms?

    I don't know.. it's actually a hard question, I think.
