  • Without CC the series would still be going.

A-Rod has a great series but CC was lights out.

It's going to be really hard for Philadelphia to beat the Yankees when they face CC 3 times.

    That guy is a bull.

Is Tori Hunter out of things to say?

Respect for the Angels and keeping Nick Adenhart's memory alive.

    Love this via LoHud....

Hal Steinbrenner doing an interview off to the side of the clubhouse and mentioning that he would really like a beer. Reggie Jackson, who was watching the interview, said, “I can take care of that for you” and, as Mr. October turned to go find a beer, Hal called after him, “A regular beer please! No ‘light!’”

We had to overcome a lot of obstacles this season, and we have nothing to hang our heads about," Torii Hunter said. "We had a great season, and I wish the Yankees luck in the World Series. They've got some of my favorite players over there, and I'll be rooting for them. Why not? I'm an American League guy."

I think that's a pretty classy quote from one of the game's go to guys for insightful quotes.

If you care about such things:

The fourth AL pennant is the most in a decade for the Yankees since the Yankees did the same in the 1960s. Unlike those days, the Yankees won them consecutively from 1960-1964 and then stunk the rest of the decade.

This will be the seventh time the Yankees will face the defending champion. The other instances were 1923 against the Giants, 1943 against the Cardinals, 1956 against the Dodgers, 1958 against the Braves, 1976 against the Reds and 1996 against the Braves.

Of the eight Yankees named ALCS MVP, five have been pitchers - Wells, Hernandez, Pettitte, Rivera and Sabathia.

Rivera recorded his 13th two-inning save in the postseason and first since Game 4 of the 2005 ALDS when he saved a game started by Shawn Chacon and won by Al Leiter. He also gave up a run in a home postseason game for the first since Game 2 of the 2000 World Series.

Pettitte is now 16-9 in 38 playoff starts and 5-2 in elimination games as a Yankee.

The last Yankee leadoff hitter to draw three walks in the postseason was Chuck Knoblauch in Game 5 of the 1998 ALCS.

Joe Girardi is the 10th manager to a win a pennant for the Yankees. Six did it in their first season, two others needed two years and one needed four seasons. He is now the 42nd person to play and manage in the World series and seventh to play and manage with the same team.

hellll yeah. hell of a game, hell of a series.

congrats to andy on setting 2 records... most post season wins, and most series clinching wins. hopefully this seals his fate in the hall of fame.

as awesome as CC was, i feel arod was slightly snubbed with MVP. CC was lights out, dont get me wrong, but arod was on a tear the entire series, and i think the everyday player should have the advantage over a starting pitcher.

it was fun watching this team celebrate last night. you sure have to feel good for the first timers.
  • Awesome series.....Four more wins to go...Yanks in 6!

Definitely a good guy, just felt like he had did a lot of talking this series.

Regarding Hunter, probably the only reason anyone might think he did a lot of talking is pretty much because the media will go up to him anytime he's willing to talk and in the playoffs, especially in a series involving the Yankees, there's close to a hundred media members in a locker room if not more talking to Hunter and other players.
