I'd say the best is childhood in the 80s geting to 15/6 by the early 90s. Great TV shows leading to great music!
On the other hand I think the 80s were a bit of a rubbish time to be a teenager. So many embarrassing fashion styles compared to the other eras, and the music wasn't all that great either.Paul

I do not remember kick the can but I do remember making a game out of anything. But if a couple of us were hanging around we would be like, I bet I can run to that tree and back faster than you, or I can jump my bike over more bricks than you. Speaking of bikes, I remember getting my first "10 speed". I also remember those big scooters before the Razors got popular. I can't remember the name of them.Hey, you wouldn't hire a clown to fix a leak in the jon so why do you let these hooligans tear down the biz? YEEAAHHH. I don't care if he is Mr. Notorious BIG, can he croon?0 -

i guess its all relative, i grew up in the 60s and 70s and those were such good times, and so different from how my kids grew up in the 90's and in this decade. everything now is video games and television, when i was a kid we were always outside playing and only came home when it was time to eat dinner, to actually sit down at the table and have a meal with the family, what a concept!!! kids and parents are too scared to enjoy being outside anymore, its really sad to see that, but totally understandable. stupid human race.....
and also, we had kickass cartoons when we were kids, i just don't get the cartoons anymore, DAMN i am old!!!0 -

Star Wars on home video, The Goonies, The Smurfs, Muppet Babies, Back to the Future, The Cosby show, Family Ties, The Never Ending Story, Jim Henson movies, Hulk Hogan, Mr. T, Ninja Turtles, The Dark Crystal, Indiana Jones, Pogo Ball, G.I. Joe, Transformers, Different Strokes, Growing Pains, Pee Wee, Gloworms, Pound Puppies, He-man, Pac-man, Super Mario Bros., Zelda, N.E.S., Who's the Boss, Ghostbusters!.. Not to mention all the cheesy action movies we know we love.
I mean, what did they have in the 70s, the Bad News Bears?.. In the 90s, Barney??
Am I biased or were children of the 80s spoiled?
Any more to add to my list?
It was a pretty sweet time to be a kid!!
Pee Wee's Playhouse is one of the greatest things on your list. Now my (almost) 2 yr old watches it. She calls him Pee Pee, but, whatever...
The Wonder Years should be on your list!0 -

Yeah, I think the 1980s was the last decade that kids actually preferred to play outside. By the 1990s, like you say, it was all video games... It's sad, really! Hopefully I will be able to keep my own kid(s) from falling into that trap.0 -

i guess it really hit home for me when we took the family to the beach for a few days, condo right on the beach, beautiful weather, and by the second day, my kids ended up in the room playing video games and whining about not having Wi-Fi!!!0 -

Yeah, Annabelle is always pulling me towards the door and saying "Bubbles...bubbles...bubbles". She is obsessed with going outside!
Then again, she is also always asking us if she can "watch Mario" or "daddy rock out" (which means she wants her dad to play Super Smash Bros. Brawl or Guitar hero III), so I can't say she doesn't know video games yet...lol.0 -
