I mean think about it.. Star Wars on home video, The Goonies, The Smurfs, Muppet Babies, Back to the Future, The Cosby show, Family Ties, The Never Ending Story, Jim Henson movies, Hulk Hogan, Mr. T, Ninja Turtles, The Dark Crystal, Indiana Jones, Pogo Ball, G.I. Joe, Transformers, Different Strokes, Growing Pains, Pee Wee, Gloworms, Pound Puppies, He-man, Pac-man, Super Mario Bros., Zelda, N.E.S., Who's the Boss, Ghostbusters!.. Not to mention all the cheesy action movies we know we love.

I mean, what did they have in the 70s, the Bad News Bears?.. In the 90s, Barney??

Am I biased or were children of the 80s spoiled?

Any more to add to my list? :D

We also grew up with the best sports heroes IMO.

Jordan, Magic, Bird, Gretzsky, Bo Jackson.

Plus we didn't have to wear helmets to bike to our neighbors yard.

Everyone(except the poverty stricken) were pretty well off, all things considered.

    MTV had videos
    NERDS!

Have you seen Princess Leia nowadays? Yuck! too old for me.

...my all time crush was Alyssa Milano. I <<<<3333 that girl!!!!
(I heard that she was also Justin Timberlake's crush too when he was little, then he got famous and dated her, most likely make sweet passionate love to her as well. JT's only a year older than me. Fuck!!!! Why can't I be a famous Pop star  )

I relived a little of my 80's childhood tonight at the Duran Duran show.

    Hungry Like the Wolf
    The Reflex
    Save a Prayer
    Girls on Film
    Wild Boys
    Rio
    PLANET EARTH

    Love them.

The way fashion comes around some of our crowd looked much like the crowd from the video for The Reflex. ;)
Walking can be a real trip

How amazing was that! I can still remember the theatre and who I was with and everything. Seeing those giant words scroll onto the screen and the music in Pioneer stereo. Just amazing stuff! :D

Late 80s/early 90s was the best ever. We had the best cartoons, the best video games, and Steve Guttenberg was still popular.

I don't remember too much of the 80s, but from what I heard it wasn't much fun to be trying to get a job in Ireland. Also, I was only a baby and my sister and brother used to paint me and make me think I could fly. I didn't like that much - go 90's :D

So did I. I remember the experience of being in the cinema, far more than the film. Well, I was five.

Remember how as a kid, you could actually go outside in the neighborhood w/o your parents and fear of abduction?

We would ride our bikes miles away from home....I don't know anyone with kids that does that now who doesn't live way out.

    Good times.

I loved all the 80's, My favorite decade by far.
I really miss those simple days growing up. My favorite toys were the WWF Wrestling guys. The first ones made, the big rubber ones, they were the shit.
And all the toy guns looked real as hell. Remember the Rambo water guns? They did not shoot water far but they looked like real uzi's and such.
Now and days thay would never happen.
When I watch a show or movie from the 80's I always look at all the stuff in the room the people are in to see the things that were popular then.

1985 was probably the best year for 80's movies by far. Too many to list.

I want to move my family to the town I grew up in b/c it looks exactly the same as when I lived there except for a few really wealthy neighborhoods. The taxes are to high now for me.
As a kid you can go anywhere and its safe, totally safe. The cops are so bored, that they get off on J-walking lol

    Tag
    Running Bases
    Kickball
    Stoup Ball
    Atari
    Those giant white foam airplanes
    Water pressure rockets

    And of course this:

I'd say the best is childhood in the 80s geting to 15/6 by the early 90s. Great TV shows leading to great music!

On the other hand I think the 80s were a bit of a rubbish time to be a teenager. So many embarrassing fashion styles compared to the other eras, and the music wasn't all that great either.

I do not remember kick the can but I do remember making a game out of anything. But if a couple of us were hanging around we would be like, I bet I can run to that tree and back faster than you, or I can jump my bike over more bricks than you. Speaking of bikes, I remember getting my first "10 speed". I also remember those big scooters before the Razors got popular. I can't remember the name of them.

i guess its all relative, i grew up in the 60s and 70s and those were such good times, and so different from how my kids grew up in the 90's and in this decade. everything now is video games and television, when i was a kid we were always outside playing and only came home when it was time to eat dinner, to actually sit down at the table and have a meal with the family, what a concept!!! kids and parents are too scared to enjoy being outside anymore, its really sad to see that, but totally understandable. stupid human race.....

and also, we had kickass cartoons when we were kids, i just don't get the cartoons anymore, DAMN i am old!!!
