I'm asking for happy thoughts to help lead this little guy home. My younger boy is heartbroken as it seems this guy escaped out a not quite latched gate this evening.


He's the best little goofball ever and a great friend to my boys. Love ya Harley, wherever you are.

Thanks guys! He is a 7 year-old dog with very little ambition, and has some neuro problems so we don't walk him on the sidewalk much or he scrapes up his feet. But he is an opportunist and I think open gate let him think he could go sniff around. I am hoping a panicky neighbor turned him in. There will be a price to pay if he is in doggy jail, but so be it. There is a pug listed at the humane society, but they don't open for another hour. If it is him, I will be overjoyed, but then there will be a stern lecture about "your actions young man." I would much rather he be in jail than out back with the chicken-killing fox.

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. Mr Harley, the prodigal has returned. He was picked up 4 blocks away by animal control last night, and spent an eventful night in doggy jail. He was given 3 different vaccinations, even though he was current. When we got there he was out in the sun and by the time we got to take him home he was tired and overheated. He is resting as I type after a dose of herbal detox. The boys were thrilled to see him and he was overjoyed to leave the building. The cool thing is that I saw a dog on the humane society website and then saw an ad on craigslist of a dog matching that description. I emailed the ad poster and met her going into the humane society as we were leaving. She thanked me and now I see her ad for her missing 5 yo family pet is down. 2 doggies home again! Thanks again for the moral support.

I can't even imagine how you & your boys were feeling while he was missing.

Hello to all! I'm glad to see so many pics lately- fighters, survivors, old timers, and all the best friends! I recently posted my goodbye to our Rottie Tomus, who had a tough but brief battle with cancer. We were dog free for the first time in our lives, and our house has seemed so empty. We figured we would just wait until we saw another rottie come up for adoption at our local shelters, when out of the blue a little mix puppy crept her way into our hearts. Here's Miss Rosalina Zelda...aka Rosie (i wanted to call her Zelda but my 7 year old insisted on Rosalina (mom, we can call her Rosie for short!!) I finally succumbed.

Isn't it funny how that seems to happen, when we've lost a dog we dearly loved, some new little friend finds their way to us.

(BTW I probably would have named her Zelda! )

So I took Django to work with me Friday for Take Your Dog to Work Day. He was a big hit. Supposedly he's on our Facebook page but I don't do Facebook so I haven't seen it.
