    Oh thank you all, these understanding words help so much ...
    I will share them with my son.
    Bonnie was his first dog as a young adult, all his.
    She would be on his heels always ... no leash just his little shadow.

    Eyesight almost gone and deaf in the end ...
    her nose to the ground following his scent. :cry:

    I love the love dogs give us, so very loyal.
