Does anyone go to University of Utah?

That would be no fun at all! LOL! I'm a Colorado native, and our beer is great! Come to CU or CSU, and have a real beer! LOL!

If he's big into Snowboarding he'll definitely want to either be in Salt Lake or Portland, judging by the schools that he picked.

Salt Lake has every thing so close by. I'd wake up at 8:20 be on the chair by 9:00 am. Then in the afternoon, I'd golf and have a BBQ. The snow is amazing and it never rains in Utah.

If I didn't have a better job offer and so many friends back in Portland, I might have stayed there like many of my other friends did. Plus it's a quick little mission to Nevada if you ever need any real Sinning

Here's some background:

He's a senior in high school now, he has gotten into to Utah, Portland State, Oregon State, Colorado State, and is waiting on Vermont and Umass and Penn State. (Umass and PSU he refuses to go to). He is big into snow boarding (which is highly influencing his decision), wants to major in communications and marketing, and is VERY ANTI RELIGION.

I know the whole mormon deal. I have mormon friends and I know how serious they are about their church. My brother refuses to acknowledge that. We've all seen reviews and they seriously warn non mormons about attending school here due to tensions between the groups. Also its a commuter school. They have 17k students and around 1700 dorm rooms, according to my mom. My brother and my parents live in the most eastern part of PA. He will be VERY far from home and any friends. He hates us all, so he doesn't really care about this, but my parents are concerned about him being SO far away. He had a very serious medical issue last year at this time, and while he is fully recovered, my parents have been scared into what would happen under a situation like that again if no one was anywhere near him.

I was just looking for someone who goes there, or that did that could give me an honest opinion of the school and its social life (or lack there of)

Tell him to read Under the Banner of Heaven...he will definitely change his mind.

i was just going by what gray said - hates religion and loves to board...if i had that kinda attitude i wouldn't want to be in utah....:)
