The Celtics outside of Ray Allen played terrible and still had a chance to won the game. Good win by the Lakers. I'd like to see KG play more in the post, and I hope that Rondo is ok.
I think the game to take is game 4. So roll on Thursday.
Based on what? Getting outplayed in game 1 and 4/5's of game 2?
No, I think based on the fact that the Lakers have played nowhere near their capabilities the whole series. If you followed the team the whole year, you'd know what I mean. They have looked really bad. The only guys to show up yesterday were Kobe, Vujacik and Jordan Farmar. One starter and two subs.
Anyway, it was (barely) enough, but they have to play much better to take games 4and 5. At least they are finally getting some foul calls.

Have they looked bad, or have the Celtics been able to play better defense? The C's won 66 games during the year by playing incredible defense. In every sport (football with the Giants, baseball with the Sox pitching) defense wins titles.
I mean the defensive player of the year is shutting down Gasol and Odom (not on his own, but he guards them both on occasion).

The Celtics are a very good team, and yeah, they play great defense. But you have to admit that a lot of the "defense" is actually illegal picks and other fouls. Those were finally called last night. You can call it playing "tough" or call teh Lakers soft or whatever, but bottom line, they are fouls. You can't rake a guy's elbow and expect not to get called for a foul. The Lakers have been extremely frustrated, and the frustration came from a combination of two things: tough defense, and also getting butchered with no foul calls. You have to acknowledge that if you know basketball, which it sounds like you do. These are not excuses, just looking at the whole picture. But yeah, to answer your question, the Lakers have not played to their abilities at all. If they continue not to, they will lose, obviously.

They took Pierce out fo the game at different points by calling ticky tacky fouls - but I guess that is what you expect when the Zen master gets all whiny about how is team isn't getting to the line - you know why because outside of Kobe the team is a bunch of jump shooters - that is it - soft players all around - especially Gasol. How do allow a back up center to dribble up the court 60 feet and go uncontested for a dunk...because your soft.
Injuries (now 3 of the starting 5 banged up) only thing that can stop the C's. I already got my tiks for games 6 and 7 - just in case.

Gasol is not a real center, as you know. He is a stop gag, and he is also from Spain and plays like a Spanish forward. The Lakers have played badly, I do not disagree. It's actually very irritating.
I don't think you have to worry about those "injuries." I have to say though the Lakers are getting schooled by the Celtics in pshychological warfare. Did you see the Celtic bench try to carry Rondo off yesterday? Haha. He told them no, but I think some of those guys wanted to pull another hero thing. DOn't worry - those injuries are just normal day to day things most of tehse guys are playing with at this point in the year.
Probably a good call on the tickets. We'll see. I think if the Celtics clinch in LA, they showed they were the better team. Should be interesting to see what happens tomorrow and Sunday.

Ultimately, we're all just going to have to see what happens. This is fun.
Also, I have absolutely no way to back this up, but here are my odds of the Lakers winning the championship:
After game 2: 25%
After game 3: 33%
If they win game 4: 49%
If they lose game 4: 5%
If they win games 4 and 5: 67%
If they win game 4 and lose game 5: 10%
So there you have it. You Celtics fans can relax. You're in the driver's seat. The Lakers have to sweep in LA. No two ways about it.

Ugh. What an ugly game last night. Can I retract my confidence about the Lakers winning all three in LA? Also, is it too late for the Lakers to get Kwame back for Pau? Kobe and Sasha dragged the lifeless heap known as the LA Lakers to a victory last night. Odom? Is he even playing in this series? Seriously, Celtics fans, you guys have nothing to worry about if the Lakers not named Kobe continue to play like this.
