Then for Allen they gave up the #5 pick and 2 very good bench players.
Know your stuff before you comment on buying. They traded the assets that they had or developed. It's called.....Danny Ainge Executive of the Year.
Oh, and NYPJ1 I know you like to rile us massholes up, but supporting LA is kinda weak for a New Yorker. Lifelong or not.9/7/98, 8/3/00, 9/4/00, 4/15/03, 7/1/03, 9/28/04, 9/29/04, 5/24/06, 5/25/06, 6/17/08, 6/22/08, 6/28/08, 6/30/08, 5/17/10, 10/15/13, 10/16/13.0 -

Sorry if I don't know all the stats about Boston... I just found it funny that a Celtics fan would use "your new found star studded team" as a jab at a Lakers fan. I guess your team is not a "new found star studded team"Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.0 -
Go C's!!!!
(the only boston team i've ever liked)I love to turn you on0 -

I thought you looooved New York? LA is the exact opposite of New York. I just thought people rooted for their city, or at least where they live/used to live.9/7/98, 8/3/00, 9/4/00, 4/15/03, 7/1/03, 9/28/04, 9/29/04, 5/24/06, 5/25/06, 6/17/08, 6/22/08, 6/28/08, 6/30/08, 5/17/10, 10/15/13, 10/16/13.0

It's ok he appears to have some issues with anything Boston He'd rather root martians on Mars before ah well you know what I mean. It's a fact he'll have to deal with Beantown in one way or another when it comes to their sport teams.

If the Knicks were winners you'd be all over them especially if the were playing Boston. Come on.

Celts in 6 - Garnett MVP.
Did you guys forget that the Celts beat them easily 2X this year? I know they traded for Gasol, but they had a healthy Bynum then. I love the Celts matchups."This guy back here is giving me the ole one more....one more back to you buddy."

HA the LAkers did that a couple of years ago and came up with a whole lot of NOTHING
we might have paid money but we put together the #1 team in the NBA including the WEST and beat the Lakers both times we played them this
year.
We had Pierce this whole time, he was the best player throughout most of the playoffs!
I hope Ray Allen has great games. He was so right on the MOney when he said Kobe was a show off and wanted to prove himself w.out shack and eventually would start crying to be traded if they didnt pick ppl up
I cant wait to kick his ass!!!There's the moon asking to stay

I'm a Lakers fan...I think the Celts have a very good team. Very good, regular season team. Really, what have they shown this post-season? Besides, that they can underachieve against mediocre clubs...I know Boston fans are saying this about the Lakers, but it's the Celtics who are indeed the 'soft' team. You're going to witness it (again). It's going down to cruchtime, the minutes ticking down on a close game, and Garnett is going to look to pass. Who's taking that big shot game after game? Pierce? Allen? Cassell? All have been incredibly shaky in these playoffs....This is the biggest stage in the NBA, I'm not so sure the Celtic stars, other than Pierce, is going to produce on a consistent basis.
And remember, if the Celtics adapt a similar defense to San Antonio which was to not foul Kobe and keep the Lakers under 90....it didn't work. Kobe shot 9 FT's that whole series. And it ended how again?
Lakers just have too many weapons off the bench. And that's where I think it will be won.
Oh, and I can't wait till Kobe dunks on Garnett......just like Lebron did.0 -

Anyways, this is why I love sports. I think you are a complete moron in your assesment, but then you would think that I am in mine. Let's see what happens. I am so damn excited for this matchup.9/7/98, 8/3/00, 9/4/00, 4/15/03, 7/1/03, 9/28/04, 9/29/04, 5/24/06, 5/25/06, 6/17/08, 6/22/08, 6/28/08, 6/30/08, 5/17/10, 10/15/13, 10/16/13.0 -
Its actually a little disgusting how the Celtics managed to get to the finals. They are trying desperatly to buy a championship because their once proud franchise has been irrelevant for over 20 years. If you were born a Celtics fan, fine. If you jumped on the bandbagon this year, you should be ashamed of yourself. Like Kobe or not you have to admire what the Lakers have done, 60% of their team was drafted by the Lakers. This is what professional sports should be about: scouting, drafting and developing young talent, not trading the farm for an attempt at a championship. And don't get me started on Sam Cassell. So disgusting.

I'm torn. I once liked the Magic/Kareem Lakers but I have been a Laker hater since the Kobe/Shaq days. However, since the Gasol trade, I find myself rooting for them again (especially when they play the Jazz & Spurs). I liked the Bird/McHale/Parish Celtics as well but I typically don't like teams coming out of Boston. Still, I have always admired Garnett and felt sorry that he had to spend the majority of his career on Planet Hoth.
Not sure who to pick...
Ah, fuck it. I'm rooting for the Celtics even though I think LA will win.
With a health Bynum next year, the Lakers are dynasty material.Idaho's Premier Outdoor Writer

Get off the high horse and check out the Gasol trade. It's fgine to hate the Celtics, just pay attention. Please.9/7/98, 8/3/00, 9/4/00, 4/15/03, 7/1/03, 9/28/04, 9/29/04, 5/24/06, 5/25/06, 6/17/08, 6/22/08, 6/28/08, 6/30/08, 5/17/10, 10/15/13, 10/16/13.0 -
rearviewmiror wrote:My God you need to pay attention. What you just said about your beloved Lakers is how the Celtics got their players. Did you know that 3 of the 5 starters are CELTIC draft picks? Or, that Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett were acquired with draft picks and players that the Celtics developed? At least the KG trade sent a player of real importance and a top 10 pick back to Minny.

Haha! Last I checked Rondo, Pierce and Perkins were all Celtics last year. Where did that get them? Oh yeah, runaway last place. Did you know that the Lakers were #2 in the western conference the day Bynum went down with an injury? Thats BEFORE the Gasol trade for those of you who have not been paying attention. Stop making excuses for your Celtics, they are trying to buy a championship. They almost remind me of the Yankees. Funny.Steve

you are a fucking retard. buying a championship like the yankees means paying crazy amounts to FREE AGENTS. Not trading for good players. Trading is part of the game! The celtics are going to stomp all over the lakers. Celts in 6.Whats got the whole world faking?0
