no...for the most part it's usually the person. sometimes you just need to go with the flow. they're as bad as one-uppers. this should be a seinfeld episode.

i've learned to just nod and smile and silently think in my head what a jack@ss they are. it's easier that way. :D
don't be so cruel,...maybe they just want an audience or friend to lean onto or talk to?

i dont know...it takes a lot to get under my skin, i guess.

i try to like people, and enjoy various thoughts that i find intriguing.

  • I learned that when dealing with my ex-roommate. No matter WHAT I said, I was wrong...so to save the stress of an argument I just agreed.

I learned that when dealing with my husband, no matter what I said I was wrong... so to save the stress of anymore arguments I'm divorcing him

My big problem is that 9 out of 10 times I am right, but I'm not a good debater, so I usually lose arguments with my friends about things.

I may be smarter than most, I just can't articulate it!!!

HAHAHAHA. But you know what...you're probably right. I've noticed that with the know-it-alls, I think they do it to make themselves feel better.

Sigh. Sorry to point this out to you. But the ORIGINAL quote you quote said that know-it-all HATERS have low self esteem.

Believe me, it's not easy being a know-it-all. I mean, it's good in a way, because it's good to know so much, but...

The hard part is dealing with all of you who don't!
  • if my cat were human they'd be a know-it-all

    i just know it

I love know-it-alls. You can ooh!, wow!, really? at everything they say, and they are so up their own arses they don't realise you're taking the piss.
  • People who think they know it all are annoying to those of us that do
If a man speaks in a forest and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?

Ah, good morning, Dunk. Still coveting more abuse I see... Alright, I'll play along.

If I needed a twig and two berries, I'd rob the finch nest in my backyard.

*For those who might not appreciate the subtle nuances of the preceding joke - finch are very tiny and thus only capable of carrying the smallest nest building materials.

As do a lot of people signatures....well, the ones that think they're incredibly amusing/profound/provocative....
......actually, I think I'm just cranky from the ridiculous amount of booze I consumed in Dublin at the weekend :( I'm thinking of calling Amy Winehouse for tips on staying sober :o

Just when I think you could (with a lot of training) pose the slightest intellectual challenge, you insult Kurt Vonnegut. I now see the kind of numbskullery I'm dealing with. This could be the amusing, or profound, or even provocatve side of me speaking, but I'll move on in hopes of finding fair game.

Well, now that I think about it... you're probably right.

Actually....I thought you started it ^ whatever. You are obviously one of said smart arses, and comfortable with it, I'll be happy for you to move on.

If that little joke is what set you off, you are a sensitive soul indeed. Yes, I am a smart ass and have no problems admitting it. I've seen lots of smart ass posts from you as well which I thought were smart and funny. So, I'm sorry for once thinking you were smart and funny. I won't make that mistake again.
