Anyone figure out how to bang Kate yet?

Love the game but one complaint. On those super long missions like the bank robbery they need checkpoints.

There were more safehouses and an mp3 station.

    That's it.

For real. I have one in Alderny and one in South Bohan, and they're both too far from the south of the game. After a while those shitty cab drivers get on your nerves. The slightest fender bender in Alogoquin has the cops all over you. Kiki comes in handy once she offers to get the cops off you.

I'm not that far yet. I haven't been playing this week, too busy working :( I just got the South Bohan crib.

Those Conan clips are hilarious off youtube!

So, I havent decided if I should get Xbox or Ps3 yet, so I havent played GTA4 yet...saving every penny.

What is everybodys take on the game as to what they expected - or how much different/better/worse than San Andreas???

Also, I dont have internet at home, is the online play a big part or not so significant?

    Thanks!!!

Online is fun, but SP is pretty big so not a complete necessity.
Either PS3 or Xbox should be fine since you don't have online anyway. PS3's graphics are supposed to be a touch smoother but there's the odd freezing issue.
Game is quite fun, way better then SA (which was my least favorite of the GTAs). The public drivers are still idiots.

I think it's a great game! Online is really fun, but it's not the biggest selling point of the game.
As far as the differences between the two systems...there aren't many. The graphics are supposed to be shaper and smoother on the PS3, but the differences aren't going to be huge. Also, there isn't much loading on the PS3 as you install a good portion of the game on the HDD. I have a PS3 and played GTA4 on my buddy's 360. Mine looked better, but I think it was mostly due to me having a much better TV (not a fair comparison).
The freezing issues, and online log-in issues have been problems for both systems.

I heard there were probs for the 360 as well, but I read it on a PS3 site and it was listed as a 'oh but the 360 has probs too!' so I disregarded it ;)
In both cases I think the problems are minimal, as well as the differences.
    Can't go wrong either way.

Yeah, mine has only "frozen-up" once and it was while I was loading and starting a game. The black screen that says "Loading...whatever mission" just got stuck. Oh well, I restarted it and it worked so not a big deal.
Most people I know that have it (on either system) don't have problems.

How far into it are you Rygar?

Cool, thanks all! I was leaning towards the PS3 anyways.

is the freeze-up issue one that is a reset the whole game kinda thing, or it freezes than continues after time? has it happened to you often?

    40%ish as of last night.
    Just unlocked the last island.
Quite fun so far, most of it.

@ Johnny - The freezing issue for the PS3 (I really know nothing about the 360 probs, but assume they're just like mca47 described, albeit diff systems) is supposedly something you have to delete all your data for, but the only peeps I know with the ps3 version are on here and mca's problem is the only one mentioned I think, and he didn't have to delete anything.

There really are a few known issues.

Install. It will freeze up during the installation. The fix is deleting the data and starting over. This is sposta work more often than not.

Random freeze. This is what happened to me once and wasn't a big deal. It froze during a load screen. I restarted my system and it was fine.

Online. Difficulty connecting to online games. It's probably more of a router issue. I haven't had any problems connecting.

A patch came out (yesterday I believe) this is supposed to fix some of these issues.

It really isn't hard to skyrocket in progress. I think it goes up near a percent per mission ratio.

On a non-GTA related, but PS3 related note, I dl'd the demo for Haze on Tuesday and must say it deserves absolutely none of the hype I have heard for it.
It isn't particularly bad, but it isn't particularly good. It does have decent controls for a shooter though, something I hate about the PS3.

Nothing about that game has caught my interest. Not sure why.
I'm looking forward to the Pixel Junk Monsters add-on! LOL :D Gonna be great! I still have to beat the first one.
Have you played Echochrome? Fun little game!

I was pretty pumped for Haze till I tried the demo, at which point I sighed and adopted a 'meh' attitude ;)
I haven't tried any of those Xbox-arcade type downloadable games except Flow. I saw some user made Echochrome stuff though and vowed then and there never to submit myself to such torture ;)

My ol' PS3 doesn't get much use these days, although the Planet Earth blu rays look very very nice, pleased with that purchase.

Ahh, I gotta say Flow is terrible. Hahaha. Oh well...I didn't pay for it, thank god! Pixel Junk Monsters is incredibly fun! If you get the chance, you should def. download that one.
