Okay, picked up GH3 today, and can't beat Tom Morello in the battle mode....what the hell do you do? I can hang with him until the end, and then its like he gets all of the notes, and I just sit there and watch myself die???? I was playing on Medium level, so I thought I'd go down to easy and try it, but got the same results!!!! How do you beat this guy?

ps - Heard the PJ track in the background....but haven't gotten to it in the game yet!

I went to Blockbuster on my break today but they don't have it in stock yet and I can't get to EB games until tomorrow. Sorry no advice, I haven't had a chance to play it yet :(

  • For the record, I'm playing on PS2. and I didn't buy the new guitar....I'm beginning to think I'm missing some buttons by not playing on the newest guitar!

Got to 'Even Flow' on Hard. I'm stuck on the Japan stage and those songs are really tough for me right now.
    6.30.06 - Marcus Ampitheatre (Summerfest),
    9.03-04.11 PJ20!!!
    7.19.13 - Wrigley!!!
    10.19.14, 10.20.14 (Yield!!)
  • my yellow button sometimes doesnt go down.
    wierd

i remember when the guitar hero ii came out for the 360 they had some defective ones. (i bought mine at target)

btw, dont buy yours at walmart. apparently walmart is packaging guitar hero with all the old guitars from guitar hero ii so if you want the new guitar pay attention to the package.

Not sure how well I can explain this, but you get like little weird attacks instead of star power and when you use them it screws up the computer. So basiclly just keep trying to whore the star power.

We have the PS2 and I was thinking of getting this for my 7 (almost 8) year old son - is it appropriate?
When he saw PJ was on it, he wanted it immediately :)

I'm really digging GH 3. I'm on the last set on Hard. I still need to be One and the Slayer song before the final battle and encore. I got a little too intoxicated last night and my skills began to suffer. Hopefully I can knock out the rest of Hard after work with a clear head.

I got the game for the 360, has anyone noticed a little lag/choppy notes on the fret bar (only for like a second) now and then? I've seen this twice. I hope GH 3 doesn't brick my 360 like GH 2 did after applying a patch.

Oh well, overall it's a great game but I'm really looking forward to Rock Band. That game is going to be sick!

The game is rated T for Teen for lyrics and mild suggestive themes. There's some chicks dancing on stage in bikini tops sometimes which I think is the suggestive themes. As for the lyrics, I don't think there is anything too bad.

I guess it's your call though, my daughter is only 3 months old so I'm not having to worry about these things yet.

I like the timing they used for the hammer-ons and pull-offs. They are much easier this time around. In GH 1 I can't even do HO's or PO's. In GH 2 I can do the HO's pretty consistently but still have trouble with the PO's.

Speaking of the HO's and PO's I also like how they made those notes more noticeable. Is it just me or do some of the HO and PO parts seem like they should go for one more note then they do?

Only 4 more hours until I go home and can jam some more, if the wife and kid let me ;)

  • All you losers need to put down that ridiculous video game and get a real guitar and start practicing on that. Jesus Christ what if Hendrix or SRV wasted their time dicking around on that game instead of hours of perfecting their licks on the axe?

The funniest thing ever was when that dude on the Detroit Tigers couldn't pitch because he had like carpa tunnel from playing too much Guitar Hero.

I thought I'd actually try to answer your question for you. Basically, as soon as you get a special attack, USE IT! You activate it the same way you do star power but if you wait and try to hang with him you'll lose. You have to try to put him away as soon as you can.

Yeah kids, and while you're at it put down your sports games and pick up a ball, put down your shooters and pick up a gun, and forget the fighter games, hit the streets....

Lame dude, it's a damn game. It's fun. It's cheaper than a real instrument, and it's easier to play.

Yeah, After a while I got the hang of it....I didn't know you could store the attack icons (up to three of them), basically, I've been attacking the opponent in two's, and trying to prevent them from picking up their own attack icons. I'm already half way through the hard set now. Loving it, best one yet.

you need to log off the computer, and get some fresh air! It's a frikken game! I own a real guitar...but it doesn't sing, play drums, bass, and rhythm guitar for me though. My wife and friends can also enjoy the game with me....you wouldn't understand though, because I'm sure you don't have friends and nobody will ever marry you! I'm glad I'm not wound as tight as you, that must suck.

Any codes for the game? Particularly hyper-speed. Supposedly there are 5 levels of hyper speed.
  • i dont play musical instruments. its not that i havent tried. i have. i have been given lesson by friends who are excellent players and patient. but the fact is, no one in my family is musically inclined. and i think i might be tone deaf.

I saw that screen where you can enter the Cheats! It won't be long before we have a list of those I'm sure!

I still haven't unlocked "Sabatoge" or "Suck My Kiss".....where the hell are they?

This isn't the first I've heard about this for the PS3's version.

Chill out douche. Some people like to play video games. Is it that big of a deal? I don't think anybody plays games and thinks they are rock star, car thief, zombie hunter, car racer, or athlete, and it's probably just as productive as your hobby.
  • friend brought it over yesterday, his kramer guitar is fucked. the tilt sensor is messed up, so as soon as you get star power, it uses it; no saving up. Looking around, there seem to a lot of issues with the PS2 packed-in wirelesses.

    That issue aside, totally fun.
