It's funny how some Ranger fans are poo pooing his 300+ wins because of shootouts. Forgetting that he's also lost a game or two while recording a shutout.

If lundqvist has the durability to last in the nhl as long as brodeur has it will be real interesting to see where his career win total will stack up against the record. That's when ppl will get finicky over the shutout wins, etc

Brodeur started when he was 19. Hank at 23. A goalie with Hank's GAA should have a few 40+ win. But with the anemic offense around him he has yet to have one 40 win season. If the offense stays the same his next 6 pr 7 years he probably only gets to 500+ wins. Unless he plays until he's 45.
Hank can have all the franchise records he wishes, but until he brings home a cup like richter did, richter will remain # 1.
if Hank had the offense Richter had. He'd probably has 2 or 3 Cups.
you can make the same argument about richter having hank's defense.
either way, after 1994 (or after 1997 to be more accurate), richter definitely fell victim to terrible ranger teams and it certainty cost him championships. hopefully when it's all said and done hank has two or three rings with the rangers (three might be a stretch, but two could and should be within reason). it would be terrible to see the two best goaltenders in franchise history fall victim to a poorly run organization with crap teams playng in front of them.

Oh well.
The new captain will not be named until the summer,
but its gotta be either McD or now signed Girardi.
