He was a gritty defenseman .
Lets hope he adds some snark to Girardi , McD, Staal(?) , DelZ, and the newbie Falk .
Oh and all our defensemen are LEFT handed shooters. Wonder if that matters at all, .....

Duclair, who played the past two seasons under Hockey Hall of Famer Patrick Roy as his head coach with the Quebec Remparts, scored 20 goals and finished with 50 points in 55 games this past season. Duclair, who grew up in Montreal with his father being a huge Rangers fan, was considered to be one of the best skaters in the 2013 draft.

    D Ryan Graves - 110th pick ( 6-foot-5- and No, no relation. ) :)
    *
Graves, a Nova Scotia native, registered 90 penalty minutes to go along with 16 points (3-13-16) in 68 games playing with PEI

    G - Mackenzie Skapski - 6th Round.
    *
Skapski, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 186 pounds, appeared in 65 games with Kootenay this past season and posted a 34-25-1 record to go along with a 2.78 goals against average, .910 save percentage and seven shutouts.

I think slats has his hands pretty much tied right now. Lots of guys we need to re-up and he really can't go out and sign anybody big. Prob why clowe didn't re-up cuz we can't afford anybody right now. Guys like Mac, steps, hank, hags, Cally I believe as well, all gonna need deals by next season.

TSN Hockey Analyst Aaron Ward reports that the New York Rangers are expected to announce the signing of defenceman Ryan McDonagh to a six-year contract extension.

Larry Brooks of The New York Post adds that the deal averages out to $4.7 million a season.

McDonagh, 24, has played in 169 regular season games with the Rangers. Over that span, he has 12 goals and 60 points with 80 penalty minutes.

McDonagh was taken 12th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 2007 and was dealt to New York as part of the Scott Gomez trade.
