after all that speculation of should we make the playoffs, or not ? - ( to secure that chance in the draft lottery ) turns out we get the 10th pick while edmonton wins the first pick.

So after all said and done , no real advvantage there.

Bye bye to Jokinenen and looks like Redden willl be bought out.

interesting jab at gaborik. "don't like the way he has performed in big games." did torts already forget that he scored the game winner in game # 81? a win that lead to a meaningful game # 82?

Torts doing the double talk on that one
Puts Gabo up on a pedestal,
then leaves him off the shootout roster.
    I dunno,....

While those other teams battle it out
for that big silver stacked cup,

    http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/more_spo ... bp2MiCVevN

NHL general managers are under the impression next year's cap will come in at approximately $58 million if, as expected, the NHLPA triggers the five-percent inflator. That means the summer cap will be approximately $63.8 million, thus leaving the Rangers around $17 million with which to sign Marc Staal and Dan Girardi and address the rest of the roster's deficiencies.

Assume that the Blueshirts, who will be obliged to carry Wade Redden's $6.5 million cap hit until he can be waived off the NHL roster during training camp, will spend in the $1.75-2 million neighborhood on a backup for Henrik Lundqvist, with Martin Biron and Johan Hedberg believed at the top of GM Glen Sather's wish list.

John Tortorella returned from the Rangers' organizational meetings to undergo hip replacement surgery on Monday, an operation that necessitated a five-day stay in the hospital

didn't know all the stress effected the hips!

Just for curiousity, where did the Dolans get him a seat ?

Neilybabes had said # 16 texted him , saying he'd be in attendance.

I seem to recall someone with another user name a few years ago having that kind of friendship with Avery.

sounds like they hooked him up with good seats, if thats to say the Dolans even got him the tickets.
Sean mayve been left to his own devices for this one the way these shows sold out .

I think it was cool that there were no Ranger chants at the Garden over the 2 shows,
( They were cool the last time- nice surprise and if they wouldve materialized i would be chanting along again but they didnt )
NYR didnt deserve accolades from the Greatest American Rock and Roll Band in The World on this night the way they choked it up at the end.

Unlike your Flyers, who are rolling over everyone , literally.
Good timing for your fine city,
with the HBO Movie about Broadstreet Bullies ,
    Phillies dominating NL baseball ,
and PJ closing down the old barn.

As I walking down the escalator from gates 70-76 I heard a let's go flyers chant, so I yelled from the top of my lungs let's go rangers and bout 10 other people joined in and we quickly drowned out the flyers chant. You don't come to rangers arena and pull that shit.
