at times, this team looks like it might actually belong in the playoffs!

any rumors on any lurking deals...???

I dunno about any lurking deals,

but i think the organziation as a whole
is inclined to dip further into the youth pool down in Hartford .

thats a crazy thing if its indeed true.

the motivation was clearly there this night.

I'm sure he was saying that in jest, but Torts is right this is the Sean Avery we need to see every night.

great fucking game the entire night, but like previously stated the outcome wasnt good.

2 little facts about last night:

I met Dancing Larry pregame at the Nora Wee Pub on 30th and 8th. Great fucking guy.

I saw Eli at the game ( stickboy ) . He looked and sounded great.
We are both looking forward to more PJ shows @ MSG , and some more NYR wins as well.

damn, what a game start to finish. that's the type of game you want OT to go on and on until someone scores. neither goalie was breaking. sucks we couldn't get 2 points, but damn that was an entertaining game.

during the shootout, VS flashed a stat that dubinsky was 0-1 in shootouts for his CAREER. seriously? only 1 attempt prior to last night? that's not possible.

just for drama sake, i would have thrown avery in as one of the first three shooters against brodeur.

i hope someone told christensen when theres a shootout, you gotta shoot the puck towards the net.

haha, yeah... but the rangers are usually considered possible (i use that loosely) contenders year after year. the mets are considered, well.... the mets year after year.

good interview with dan blackburn during the 2nd intermission. glad he is still involved with the organization is some way. the rangers have been lucky with a pretty solid crop of young goalies since the end of richter's career. cloutier / blackburn / montoya were all considered to be the next "franchise" goalie and really showed alot of promise. but its funny how things work out sometimes and we ended up with lundqvist.

interesting article in todays NY Post ( Brooks )
basically telling Sather and Tortorella not be tempted and go and sign Vincent LeCalvier (sp? ) from Tampa .

We'll see what happens ( or doesnt happen ) when they face off at the Garden tonight .

I agree, signing him just repeats the cycle of mid-30s players.

    from the NHL rule book
47.16 Third Man In - A game misconduct penalty, at the discretion of the Referee, shall be imposed on any player or goalkeeper who is the first to intervene (third man in) in an altercation already in progress except when a match penalty is being imposed in the original altercation. This penalty is in addition to any other penalties incurred in the same incident.

This rule also applies to subsequent players or goalkeepers who elect to intervene in the same or other altercations during the same stoppage of play.

besides, the ranger guy was more than big enough to take care of himself. next time, maybe he should try and throw a punch.
