NY Bagels, Bialies , & Pizza is as good as it gets because of NYCs excellent tap water.

it definitely is the water in the bread ( bagels bialys( ies ) - im a catholic kid ) as well as the crust / dough for the pizza.

Of course there is some general knowledge of the art of the food preparation - but only with the right ingredients.

I came to know this firsthand when i temporairly relocated to the Sunshine State- which along with all the touristy Mickey Mouse related lifestyle, some of the hardest and vile tap water i have ever experienced- even worse then any in New Jersey .

I RECKON you would like NY or New Haven pizza...they are pretty similar except the crust is a wee thinner I think in NYC.

I'm not fussy, pizza is pizza, not that I eat a lot of it these days. As long as there's no raw fish involved  I'm up for it.

I have never heard of sushi pizza, but I am sure it exists and if it does it would be in NYC.
Back to the hotdogs...get right mentioned the onions...yes, you have to have onions too.
    Kraut, mustard and onions.
No ketchup...that is no way to treat a tomato. :p

We have to ease this kid from Chicago in gently.

I used to hate mustard when I was young but my dad would always get his at the cart with mustard so i did and choked it down. Now I love it. :)

Everything bagels have too much stuff, don't you think?
I like whole grain, asiago cheese, plain, blueberry :o or egg.
    Oh and salt bagels...holy mackeral.

nah, just the right amount of salt and onion and sesame (they could lose the poppy seeds though)

    asiago cheese bagels?????????
    Egg=old school love it.

hot dogs, hate to admit it, but the chicago style (with everything but the tomato is my current fav)
But I recently had a slaw dog that gave it a run for the money-must have been because I made it!

made lobster three ways (over three meals) this weekend for my wifes b-day
    truly outstanding

Sushi pizza-ive had it with smoked salmon a la wolfgang puck-good but not comparable to a tomato pie

    Yeah, Chicago also hates ketchup.
Ketchup cancels out the flavor in the beef. Ketchup=no good.

How can you rate cities when each city probably has hundreds of different tasting pizza places?

The generalization is that Chicago and New York are known for having good pizza places.

lived in CT and NYC for many many years
    been to naples 5 times
and chi town twice (not a lot but enough to try their "best" deep dish spots)

so my rating is based on that experience

I'll have to try NY pizza sometime. I don't even like deep dish. I like my pizza thin and crispy, although there are plenty of good places around here.

    Good point.

Nto all Chicago pizza is deep dish.

Chicago style thin pizza is usually what I get.

There's a pizza place here in San Diego that, no joke, imports water from NYC for their crusts.

the sheds that supply NYC with water are roughly the size of Deleware.
