PS I didnt mean it like that.....Im not rolling in dough. Just figured, for one day, I could probably swing the parking.
I was joking with you.
I know what you mean.
I think you should put your car in a 24 hr lot, take the subway downtown to get the boat to the statue and then take the subway up to the game.

that would be the most sensible option. driving around yankee stadium and around the major deegan will be at least two hours of your life you won't get back.

There's also a place called US Fried Chicken on Gerard Avenue.
Yum! I had that just last week! Also, if you are a Cracker Jack fan, you can buy a bag on 161st St. for $1. It is half the size of the one they sell inside, but for a quater of the price.
As for driving/parking trade-off...definitely park in Manhattan and take the subway, it will definitely be quicker that way. I take the 4 from the Wall St. (downtown) station weeknights after work and it only takes 45-60 minutes, so I would think from midtown it should take 45 minutes, tops on a weekend.

what happened to being here for 3 days?
you'll regret not spending more time here......bummer.
the suggestions i would make for pizza are no where near the stadium, and since you won't have time in nay case...i won't tell you. hahaha.
hehe, I know......I was REALLY hoping for a september trip for 3-4 days....but stupid people getting married.....wtf? I have to go to 4 weddings this summer!!!
Anyway, I decided that I just have to see Yankee Stadium this time around, so I am doing that and trying to fit in as much as possible on the way out of town to DC.

Jenfarr, how much would it be to park for the day near Wall Street?
Where can a guy get an AUTHENTIC NY Style hot dog near Yankee Stadium?
And NY PIZZA.
Im sure you can get hot dogs in the ballpark....are those typical ballpark hot dogs....or is there a stand somewhere I cen go to before/after the game?
(And its a day game)
hot dogs are gross, the only time i might have one is at a ballgame. . .NYC pizza is overrated, long island pizza is WAY better, so if you want the best pizza make the trip east
i have wished for so long, how i wish for you today

Most garages in the Financial District are between $20-$25 overnight. If it is a weekend game then you can get parking in here for $10-$15 for 12 hours (except overnight). There is a garage on Gold St where I used to park my car and it has the best prices in the neighborhood. It is a GMAC lot, not Icon. With that being said you can check out http://www.iconparking.com/ to see where you can get the best priced parking in the city.

Yeah, during the week it is pretty expensive, but downtown lots usually are cheaper on the weekend. I don't drive downtown alot (and the one time I did I found a spot on the street), so I'd go with what mookie says.

Americans put wayyyyyyyyyyyy too many toppings on pizza, and too many kinds of toppings that shouldn't go anywhere neer a pizza.
Like cheese. Get rid of the cheese so I can make room for roasted tomatoes, artichoke hearts and zucchini. YUM!

You haven't heard of buffalo mozzarella? Or the 4 cheese pizza? Most authentic Italian pizzas use mozzarella, though there are a few that do skip out on the cheese.
i have not tried NY pizza, but i find it very hard to believe that any thing can cove even close to authentic Italian pizza in italy! the stuff is AMAZING!
I like all types of pizza. Can't wait to try NYC style.
this is the BEST answer.
there is no *best* in regards to personal tastes in food. you like what you like.
vedder_soup...pizza and italy and pizza anywhere in the US, not the same thing...at all. for my personal tastes, nothing touches NY pizza, not even italy. however, they are just so different, that i don't think anything really compares.
