  • What a Bitch game
Ponson should have gone the distance. Was pitching a gem
A-Rod is a gigantic pussy. Just refuses to take the team on his back in big games/ or situations.

This team can be sooo flat and lifeless at times.

Yea it's A-Rod against the Angels. You can't blame Alex too much. Most players expect a fastball maybe slider. And he throws him a changeup.

It not just that at bat. He was up early in the game with 2 men on and again struck out. A player like him at least needs to make a productive out. He can't even do that this year. How many times this year have the Yanks set themselves up in an inning and A-rod K's??? Even the announcers were talking about it

But at least he worked the count full. Abreu struck out on 3 pitches. I guess it depends on how they pitch you. He's hardly gonna get good pitches to hit. I mean he got a slider on the first pitch. I know he hasn't been doing great in these situations this year. But he's batting over .320. So eventually those hits will come. But unless Giambi gets hot again. He won't get too many good pitches to hit.

  • I should have watched the game on tv tonight....I went to see the mummy..... but this game seemed extra extra good...plus santana and ponsone are on my fantasy team....ponsone didn't get the loss moe did and moes' on my team to....so I got a loss
  • It was great to see Willie back in the pinstripes, but it would have been even better to see Bernie Williams. Bobby Murcer's widow would have been nice, but I can certainly understand why she couldn't make the trip, obviously. Too bad Mattingly couldn't make it too. Righetti also, for that matter. Lousy jobs, getting in the way. I guess the same goes for Scott Brosius. I know he's managing somewhere. A local college, I believe. I really hope they get Bernie back in the Stadium before they move across the street. last reagular season game maybe. Or a playoff game first pitch, if possible

did they invite Bernie? I read something about how they are supposed to have every living Yankee in the stadium at the end of the season?

Anybody know if Stadium tours are sold out? I'm only able to go on a weekend. I checked TM. But everyday is sold out.

I gotta give it to them today. Mussina pitched a gem. Hey, we can't win every game. But we will most of them. 3 outta 4 aint bad

Rasner gets no run support. So that may be true.

Bruney looked a little rusty yesterday, but the stuff is still there. He'll be a big part of this bullpen for the rest of the season. Between him, Veras, Marte, Ramirez, and Robertson there isn't one guy who comes in the game and makes me go "Uh Oh!". This is not something I've been able to say as a Yankee fan in a while.

My only real problem with Mo on Friday night was the walk. What can you say about the hit by Vlad? Him and Sheff are about the only 2 guys who can hit that pitch. Nonetheless it's a recurring pattern. Maybe Mo entering the game in a non save situation is my "Uh Oh!" now.

Nice to see Hughes looking good in rehab. In the meantime let's go get Rasner some runs today.

Rasner finally gets some runs. Ramirez was cruising through the 1st two batters and was 0-2 with the 3rd. But I think he was trying to be too fine. 37 batters without giving up a hit. He was bound to give up a hit and runs. Luckily it didn't cost them the game.

this was a big win today! What a game.

I literally did this  when I saw the grand slam, I was like oh crap, but we came back! Woo hoo!

I didn't like that Joe said on the post game that Mo 'wasn't available and wasn't quite right' I hope he is not hurt.

This is going to be a looong road trip.
    I hope it goes well.

Wild one today. Great comeback thanks to some resolve and some horrible defense by the Halos. Their defense was even worse than Abreu's base running. I'm so glad that play didn't cost us the game.

Geise was the hero. He kept them in check until we could finally get the offense going.

I wonder how long before Rasner is sent down. I like the guy and think he could eventually be a pretty good back of the rotation starter, but his days are numbered. Imagine if Hughes and Wang had stayed healthy. That woulda been quite a rotation. The question is do they stick with Rasner until Hughes is ready or do they bring back Kennedy.

Our old friend Farnsworth blew one in the 8th today. 3 earned runs against T-Bay. That's a game we don't pick up in the standings as the Rays won it in extra innings.

I know it will be a tough series in Anaheim. But it should be a good one.

Im just glad that we pretty much are the only team in baseball to have already locked up a playoff berth, so a lot of these games in essence dont really matter. Still like whoopin up on the Sox and the Yanks though :D

you have to be careful with wrapping up a playoff berth so early. It can be tough to "turn it back on" after playing a month or 2 of "meaningles" games. It would almost benefit them if one of dopes from the AL Worst got competitive

Yeah, who would have thought him blowing a save after we trade him would still cost us. I watched some of the end of that game. Percival got hit for T-Bay as well. Miquel Cabrera hit a MONSTER shot off him that hit one of the catwalks at The Ugly Dome in Tampa.

Pitching match ups for the Ranger series:

Monday: RHP Joba Chamberlain (4-3, 2.24) vs. RHP Vicente Padilla (12-5, 4.52), 8:05, YES

Tuesday: LHP Andy Pettitte (12-8, 4.18) vs. LHP Matt Harrison (2-2, 7.40), 8:05, YES

Wednesday: RHP Sidney Ponson (6-2, 4.23) vs. RHP Tommy Hunter (0-0, 10.80), 8:05, YES

Thursday: RHP Mike Mussina (14-7, 3.44) vs. RHP Scott Feldman (4-4, 4.97), 8:05, YES

I hope Hamilton doesn't go off too bad on us this series.
