    it didnt look like that.

why would you WANT to know before you see it? the movie is ruined because surprise is key.

I didn't look at the link either but I think I can conjur up a fairly accurate assumption of what this thing is gonna look like. Big, scaly, possibly green. A surprise would be if it was a monster's body with Oprah Winfrey's head.

i want to know because i'm not going to go see it. there's two kinds of movies I am completely sick of: zombie movies, and movies where NYC gets destroyed. Booooorrrrrring.

    that's not it.

    it was already debunked.

apparently there are advanced screenings tonight but security will be tight.

i like the fact that there are a bunch of little monsters running around causing havoc.

    should be fun.

    Esther's here and she's sick?

hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks
  • I hope it's good, but honestly I don't expect much. It's rated PG-13 and seriously, how can you have a horror and not rate it R? Plus, I hope it's not a "new" Blair Witch Project... You know.. shakey cam throughout, people running/scared, and we never see the damn monster.

We'll see.. I am looking forward to seeing it, just not going to expect much.

i actually like it that it's not R...

they would just throw in too much needless blood and gore...

hell, they would probably throw in an orgy scene too.

thats what i was thinking!! and the marshmallow man post was hilarious.

I'm not going to see the movie, i'll keep my 8 dollars and live with the fact of not knowing the suprise of what the cgi monster looks like...
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

Yeah, no kidding. What's with Slusho? Does that get explained?
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

yea...i kind of wish the same thing now.

this thing looks like a giant insect...

but for some who have seen the movie they say it actually looks good in motion on the big screen.

there are smaller monsters with this one too.

  • Roger Ebert's review gives a quasi-description of the monster:

  • it was worth my money just to see new york city get ripped the fuck up.

    the monster was dumb.
  • why is it called Cloverfield?
    Mansfield II: # 23, since '03

    routine was the theme..

there aint gonna be any middle any more
  • it's the name the case was designated by the U.S. Department of Defense.

I thought this movie was absolutely awesome.

Nothing wrong with the monster(s). and the movie doesnt cop out. you get to see
  • yeah i thought this was a pretty terrible movie. unfortunately, it was just sad enough that i couldnt laugh at how bad it was. monster was kind of disappointing/uncreative, but that's all i'll say. Some people I saw it with liked it, though, so make up your own mind
"Ah, life is a gate, a way, a path to Paradise anyway, why not live for fun and joy and love or some sort of girl by a fireside, why not go to your desire and LAUGH..."
  • Honestly the movie was pretty good. Nothing incredible, but pretty good. It wasn't so much about the monster as it was the people running from it. The camera movement, as much as you might say "oh god, another Blair Witch", was actually pretty decent. Nothing too crazy as far as unnecessary movement goes, it mostly was on beat with the "horror" the people involved were experiencing.

I do wish it ended different though. With out giving away spoilers, I wish they took the end in the entire opposite direction they did. I guess though, it left a lot up to the imagination.

Overall I'll give it a 6.5/10 on the Ledbetterus scale.

  • I thought this was an awesome movie...I read the reviews and sorta knew what to expect.

I thought the monster was pretty cool, and the Subway scene was pretty creepy.
