I am a HUGE Buffy fan! I have all seven seasons on DVD! My favorite eps include all Xander heavy eps with the possible exception of Teacher's Pet. Can't say I like that one much at all! But I love The Pack, and I even Loved The Zeppo, which a lot of people don't like. I really hated that Xander lost his virginity to Faith because I thought up to that point that him and Cordelia had done it. Cordy should have been his first!
Spike is one of my favorites too. He had the most character development of anybody in the series. And I still say he loved Buffy more than Angel ever did... even if it was more of an obsession... and yeah it got scary.
I didn't hate Tara. I liked her quite a lot actually. I HATED Kennedy with a passion! I also didn't care for Riley at all!
My favorite big bad was The Mayor! And I loved that Snyder got eaten by him. That was so... appropriate.
My favorite character in the whole show was probably Willow! She was just so badass there toward the end! Gotta love that black-eyed-evil thing she had goin on! But just in general... she rocked!
And when I'm asked what my favorite line is I always come back to one... I don't know if it's my favorite, but it always pops into my head first when I'm asked... so it must be... and that is...
Buffy: It's just - there he is. On the hell mouth. All day, every day. That's got to be like being showered with evil. Only from underneath. A bidet! Like a bidet of evil!"Ideas are bulletproof." --V

I haven't watched Serenity yet, but I'll always give his work a look. In my opinion, he's never put out a bad product (except for the Buffy movie, which wasn't his fault).
.
You're right. It wasn't his fault. He really didn't have anything to do with the Buffy movie except writing the script, and that was BUTCHERED by the director and producers. He was smart to keep the rights to his story though. It's what allowed him to be able to do the series at all."Ideas are bulletproof." --V

Which spawned the movie, Serenity?
EXCELLENT STUFF!!
I've been a big fan of Buffy and Angel since their beginnings. If I had to rank the seasons of Buffy from best to worst, it would go 3, 5, 2, 4, 7, 1, 6. Angel seasons would be 2, 3, 1, 5, 4.
But hands down, FIREFLY is the best thing that Joss has ever created. Only fourteen episodes ever made (half a season), but those fourteen episodes are far superior to any season of Buffy or Angel.
Serenity was good, definitely a satisfying morsel for any Browncoat or Whedon fan. But it was made for a mass movie market, and a lot of the nuances from the Firefly series were missing.
I've recommended FIREFLY to all of my friends, and I've yet to have one come back to me with a negative response.0 -

The silent episode was pretty damn good. I don't know how they pulled it off. I believe the show got an emmy for best writing in that episode. Josh writes great plotlines, even though at first, it may sound impossible, but he always manages to pull it off.
I am also a HUGE fan of his! I did manage to see an episode of Firefly when it first came out on FOX, but at the time, i was in high school, and it usually aired during the evening when I was away on football games for the band.
I need to re-check it out.
thanks for the suggestion girl
damn, I need to see ALL of the Angel episodes as well. I loved it that at the last season, they brought in Spike to join Angel's group. Talk about great dynamics there. one of my favorite Angel episodes was when he got turned into a puppet. He looked cute as a puppet!I loved it when Spike came into his office, and Angel was sitting in the chair, and turns his chair around to face Spike, and Spike goes, 'you're a BLOODY puppet!' and starts mocking and laughing at him. Then, Angel, the puppet, flies from his chair and starts beating up Spike
You so gotta watch Firefly!! It rocks!! It's so funny and clever. Just a really great series.
Ah the puppet episode!!! HOW COOL WAS THAT???!!
If you like interesting puppets, you should get the movie Meet the Feebles.
It's like an R rated Muppets. It's awesome!!It was written and directed by Peter Jackson of Lord Of The Rings fame. It's old. 1989 I think, but it's well worth a look.
Very twisted.
Buffy and Angel are a bit of sore point around here. My doofus brother (who I love really! sshhh! don't tell him!!) bagged me for years for watching them. I used to tape them religiously every week and watch them during the day, coz some of them freaked me out too much in the dark!!
Anyway, he used to give me so much shit for watching "Fluffy" and friends!
He was always into Star Trek, Babylon 5 (?whatever!) Red Dwarf, Stargate. Sci Fi shit.Anyway, I kept nagging him about Buffy, telling him what he was missing out on. And he kept giving me shit. THEN! Can you believe this?
He goes out and buys the complete series of both!!!!! AARGGGHHH!!!
Now he's a complete convert!!!My work here is done!!!!
NOPE!!!

Sorry! You are right of course!! Think I may have posted after an all nighter, so forgive me?
Buffy and Angel are fantastic. Some of the best television ever, in my humble opinion. I actually even heard sociologists here quoting it and referring to it. We really need it to come back. The world was a much better place with it in it.
As to Serenity, I think it was written to tie up all the loose ends of Firefly when the series was axed mid season. It's a shame that it wasn't more able to be a stand alone effort, but it is still a cool film and well worth watching.
I would suggest you are up to speed with the series before you see it though.NOPE!!!

It's all good as far as I'm concerned mookie. I was so thrilled to find out about Firefly. I'd been suffering Joss withdrawls and wasn't expecting that I'd like it. But I borrowed it from a friend and watched the lot in one sitting!!!
I liked it so much I put it on my Christmas list and the mumma obliged!!!
I also own Serenity on DVD but was lucky enough to see it at the Drive In on an enormous screen. And I'm really glad I got to see it on the big screen.
It's still great on DVD but some movies really are better watched on the big screen and Serenity definitely qualifies as one of those.NOPE!!!

I watched the first seasons but it kept getting worse so I stopped watching...
I did love the flashbacks of the vampires, Angel and Spike (English guy with white hair?), brilliant. It would be great if they made a new show about that group of vampires (Angel, Spike, the creepy silent childish woman...) back then.THANK YOU, LOSTDAWG!

Creepy, silent childish woman is Druscilla. And I liked the historical flashbacks too.NOPE!!!

I haven't seem Meet the Feebles in years! I must borrow it from my brother and re familiarize myself, but it sure was twisted and funny as from what I remember. Sounds like your ex and my brother would have a lot to talk about!!!
So yeah, all this Buffy and Angel talk has got me needing to drag them out and refresh my memory, but from what I remember the finale of both Buffy and Angel where disappointing and confusing.
What did happen in the Angel finale again? I just remember being sad it was over and feeling things were unresolved.NOPE!!!

I thought the Buffy finale was great! Angel, it did leave me feeling confusedIn the Angel finale, (i forgot part of the plotline) Angel and the gang had to save the world from demons (i believe). All I remember was that Wesley died; Angel, Spike, and Gunn were standing by each other while the demons came down and that is how the series ended. It left me feeling uneasy on what happened after that...'does it mean that all 3 of them died as well?' or 'did they manage to save the world?'
I read somewhere that Joss wanted to continue on with Angel, but stupid WB cancelled it before Joss could finish the storyline  gah!!ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~

maybe answers to those questions will be in the season 8 comic that he's writing right now.0 -

yeah i hope so. I know he is down writing a new movie verison of Buffy and he wants Sarah and David to come out, but he thinks that highly unlikely they will do it since now they are big starsBut i DO hope that someday we'll see a Buffy movie once again.
I hear the comic book is coming out in the coming weeks.ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~

Awesome shows! All my friends raz me about Buffy. I haven't seen too many eps of Angel, but I just bought the entire series on DVD and have started watching S1.
There are so many great eps, I don't know if I could possibly pick a fave.0 -

that was the best moment in the series (or the musical)Let's not be negative now. Thumper has spoken0 -

eh, sarah isn't doing anything these days. her career post-buffy has been really disappointing. she definitely SHOULD do it. david just has his tv show, surely he could make a movie too. but they are a little old now, and david especially is starting to show his age, so i'm not sure how well they could pull it off. it'd be interesting to see, for sure.0 -
The finale of Angel ended with Angel, Spike, Gunn (bleeding to death probably) and Illyria (the thing that possessed Fred) in the alley, with an army of demons coming at them. And here's the last bit of dialog:
Gunn: Any word on Wes?
Illyria: Wesley's dead. I'm feeling grief for him. I can't seem to control it. I wish to do more violence.
Spike: Well, wishes just happen to be horses today.
Angel: Among other things.
Gunn: You take the 30,000 on the left.
Illyria: You're fading. You'll last 10 minutes at best.
Gunn: Then let's make it memorable.
Spike: In terms of a plan?
Angel: We fight.
Spike: Bit more specific.
Angel: Well, personally, I kind of want to slay the dragon. Let's get to work.
I thought the ending was cool. Kind of summed up the whole point of the show. Its not about winning or losing, its about fighting the good fight, and the "Let's get to work!" was the perfect way to say it.0 -
where are all the Buffy/Angel fans here?! show off your nerdness
and YES, I am a nerd that loves Buffy and Angel
