Now see, this is where you're wrong. :D We've got Chipotle around here, and I ain't gonna lie: I dig it. But I'd let you punch me in the nuts with a set of brass knuckles if it meant that joint would turn into a La Bamba.

    lol! :D

I admire your dedication to your burrito joint of choice. So, we'll just have to respectfully agree to disagree. :D
  • Im a taco time girl all the way.

What can I say... those dudes brainwashed me with their stewed chicken and grilled steak burritos. :D

I remember there was a huge burrito rivalry on the WMU campus... La Bamba and The Big Burrito. Big Burrito sucked because they:

-- did not know how to wrap a burrito, thus everything would shoot out the ass end of your burrito after the first bite.

-- they finished off the burrito on a flat grill, making the tortilla crispy. A completely bush league, amateur hour maneuver.

I could really go for a burrito right now, though... I'm thinking Panchero's or Chipotle for dinner tonight. Thanks to everyone for the inspiration.
  • Chipotle has fantastic guacamole. But, I think they charge too much for it...I never order cheese or sour cream, yet they still charge me $1.50 for guac. Bastards. It's like a coke addiction.

Props out to the La Bamba fans out there. Burritos as big as your head!

I'm not a big fan of Chipotle, but you are right...they got some good guac! Totally worth the $1.50!!

QDOBA IS BY FAR MY FAVORITE!!!
Illegal Petes is good, but the only reason I'd go anywhere for a buritto besides Qdoba is because qdoba was closed and I'm too hungry to wait for them to open!
  • A quick aside about Chipotle...

I stopped there on Sunday to grab a quick dinner and I ran into Al Franken in line at the Uptown Chipotle in Minneapolis. It was crazy! I was proudly wearing my Packer sweatshirt after we destroyed the Viqueens and he asked me if I had just changed into my sweatshirt after the game. We talked for a minute while we were in line and he's a great guy. Talk about a random encounter. But, he is running for Senate in Minnesota so I guess it makes sense...

Oh and for the folks out in Cali where Mexican is done right, if you need a fast food burrito joint say hello to Gordito Burrito for me. Oh how I miss the good Mexican food.

THe same out in West Texas....you can find good Mexican food in the Midwest and in WVA, but the real authentic stuff is in its own category.

Pretty disgusting to see a chicken burrito has near 50 grams of fat in it. Pretty sure a Big Mac has just as much.
  • it's good, i prefer qdoba though.

I'm with ya on this one....that Qdoba queso is delicious!

Somebody told me that McDonald's started Chipotle....is that true? If so that's reason enough not to eat there! I'm envisioning Ronald McDonald with a Sombrero and a Poncho now.

    That is 100% true.

Wendy's owns Baja Fresh, and I'm not sure who owns Qdoba...

Not 100% true. It was started as a small chain out West (Arizona first I believe). It was then purchased by Ronald and company only to be sold again last year.

You obviously haven't eaten NYC mexican food! I'm from California myself, and believe me when I say that Chipotle is quite delicious! We had a decent mexican restaurant here but it shut down. SInce then I have tried countless others and one after the next seem to get worse!
