Yeah, you're not so bad yaself Chaddles! You know, for a yank and all!
One of the best days of my life with you and sitka and the waterfall.
I'm still on a buzz from getting to spend the time with such a great bloke.
and i thought i was the only nutty one in the group
nope i am not
our Jeanie here was all up in this badass waterfall that i always climb around on
she was not afraid to get wet
Rock dude was all taking pictures like a madman
Chadwick with a gallon of water in his left boot
slippery mossy rock
me all stepping into a deep hole for my left leg to swim in
funny shit i'll never forget
me sitting on a log, dumping water out of boot
ringing out my sock
and Jeanie like a chipmunk scurrying from rock to rock
big tall waterfall crashing sounds
good fucking times
the society we live in today, where everything seems to be so easily disposed of and replaceable, what has this done to our men? The way they use and treat woman like a used car, trade her in for something that looks better! I would love to see a study done on how many marriages or relationships were destroyed because of sleeze internet dating sites.
When will our men return to being a man of honor to his woman, thinking the grass is always greener on the other side, however, that beautiful green grass you once had is gone, and all you have left is dead hay!
Well, as long as we're generalizing, I think you're on the right track comparing women to commodities. In this society, the media, consumer culture, etc. have represented women as objects to be used by men merely as a means to an end. It's no surprise, then, when men treat us that way.
Two suggestions: 1. Buy a vibrator; 2. Don't put so much stock into men.
"Almost all those politicians took money from Enron, and there they are holding hearings. That's like O.J. Simpson getting in the Rae Carruth jury pool." -- Charles Barkley
i think we as humans are just becoming less loyal. men and women both. its sad, but its the way it is. we also live in a "what have you done for me as of late" and " instant gratification" society. and lets be honest, sometimes its just easier to walk away than it is to FIX something.
Peace, Love.

aw, lisa, so sorry :( call me if you want to rant...or if you want me to pick you up tickets to the supersuckers/green river/zeke show and you can stay at our place and get away for the weekend! fuck 'em!
Well except Rock on, cutback, chaddles, trailer, the wolf, patrick.......I could go on but I'm bound to miss someone and land myself in it.
You know, from this side of the world, in another time I could have made that comment but it would read:
Oh, sorry, let me be more specific....AUSTRALIAN MEN!!
You know what? Some men do think women are disposable, some of them grow out of it, some of them do not. I realize if you've just been on the receiving end of some nasty shit from a man, or even several in a row, that you would be feeling that ALL men are bastards. But they're not you know.
When you've got that nasty taste in your mouth from the bad behaviour of an individual the best thing to recover, in my experience, is to label the bastard you're dealing with and then forget him! Spend your time looking at the men around you that are great and reinforce to yourself that there are some really great guys in the world. Why give the arsehole more power than he deserves to have? Don't let him shape your view because if you do allow that to happen you'll be missing out on some really great people, men included, even AMERICAN MEN!
They think they are 'saving' us from pain and hurt, but really all they are doing it sparing themselves from feeling like crap...just MAN up and do it! We're strong enough, we may cry and get sick at first but I bet you we'll be better off with out you!!<---sorry again:) personal issue!
I feel like I'm reading a page out of my life right now!
I knew all the rules, but the rules did not know me...GUARANTEED!

Get over whatever happened to you and don't generalize all men just because of the way some asshole may have treated you.
Hope it gets better soon, but kick him to the curb and don't waste any precious energy on him. Anybody that messes with you on your birthday isn't worth pissing on. I'm sure you know that. And besides what a miserable existence he must have if that's his best effort?

Luckily, not all men are like this, however I think there's a sub-culture of men who are like this.
I have no idea why some people are like this though. Perhaps they have trouble with attachment or deep feelings in general?

Not a good statement if I'm in a touchy mood. This may be the case with some but all the marriages I have witnessed splitting have been at the woman's request... including mine.

So easy.
Sorry if you've written this because of a personal experience.
I'm kinda offended by posts like this. I've been disposable to most women I've met.
'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'

I agree. I too am offended by some posts and i'm a woman!
I've been in relationships when guys have cheated and left. I never once felt 'disposable'... I had more pride than that. Sure I was unhappy, confused and very, very angry but it didn't cause me to make sweeping generalisations of men. I understood that what happened to me on one occasion was due to his decision to act on impulse and desire. He never once 'disposed' of me, infact if anything he was extremely upset because he didn't want to hurt me anymore.
There are a hell of a lot of good men out there. American, British, Australian... it doesn't matter where they're from, it's who they are. I know a hell of a lot of good, honest men who would never in a million years even consider 'disposing' of a woman.
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...
... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
I've cheated on half the wives I've had and half the wives I've had have cheated on me. Ahhhh, the cosmic ballet, the yin and the yang, the big blue ball keeps on a spinnin'.
