Why do men feel women are so disposable?

the society we live in today, where everything seems to be so easily disposed of and replaceable, what has this done to our men? The way they use and treat woman like a used car, trade her in for something that looks better! I would love to see a study done on how many marriages or relationships were destroyed because of sleeze internet dating sites.
When will our men return to being a man of honor to his woman, thinking the grass is always greener on the other side, however, that beautiful green grass you once had is gone, and all you have left is dead hay!

From my experience...if you're done in the relationship leave...don't lie and pretend you love someone just because it's the 'right' thing to do, it's worse then leaving (definitely don't pretend u love someone for 4 years...I coulda moved on by now!!<---sorry, personal issue):)

None of this is exclusive to men, or even more common in them in my experience.

maybe you should watch the IFC movie "Kissing Jessica Stein" and live out your bi-curious feelings for women and leave us men out of it

You know, from this side of the world, in another time I could have made that comment but it would read:

Oh, sorry, let me be more specific....AUSTRALIAN MEN!!

You know what? Some men do think women are disposable, some of them grow out of it, some of them do not. I realize if you've just been on the receiving end of some nasty shit from a man, or even several in a row, that you would be feeling that ALL men are bastards. But they're not you know. :)

When you've got that nasty taste in your mouth from the bad behaviour of an individual the best thing to recover, in my experience, is to label the bastard you're dealing with and then forget him! Spend your time looking at the men around you that are great and reinforce to yourself that there are some really great guys in the world. Why give the arsehole more power than he deserves to have? Don't let him shape your view because if you do allow that to happen you'll be missing out on some really great people, men included, even AMERICAN MEN! ;)

They think they are 'saving' us from pain and hurt, but really all they are doing it sparing themselves from feeling like crap...just MAN up and do it! We're strong enough, we may cry and get sick at first but I bet you we'll be better off with out you!!<---sorry again:) personal issue! ;)

i just read this statistic last night, and it blew me away. i hate to say it, but it was on some website that is affilated with Oprah. i feel dirty.

anyway, 75% of marriages that end are ended by the woman.

just saying. sounds to me like the women are doing there share of "going through" men.

anyway, men suck, get over it. i thought all you gals were pulled aside at like the age of 13 and told that !?!?!?

we are sneaky bastards that is why if i were a woman i would be a lesbian, well one of the reasons ;)

1 out of every 2.67 men will cheat on their wife. out of those men, 7 out of 10 state that sex is not the main reason for the affair.

the odds are not in your favor to find that 1 man that will be honest and be a gem . you have about a 50% chance with any man.

know that going in to any relationship.

( i have the fucked up misfortune of remembering dumb statistics ) damn me finding that story on the big O page last night.
i was bored. what can ya do.
    Peace, Love.

I think it is because we thought that feminism was a step ahead for women. We thought it would help us get some more rights. And although I do think that it had intentions that were good and headed in that way, the bottom line is it fucked us over more than helped us.

It ended up to be a big fat guy with a cigar saying, "ok, honey you go work. and then you come home and be a mom, wife, housekeeper, while I sit here and complain that I WORKED ALL DAY."

I know that there have to be a lot of men who are much better and honorable and I have not met them, so that said, I apologize ahead pf time for this comment, but the men I know are not men like they were suppose to be.
A real man, is secure enough in his manhood to just silently know that he has the strength that is leading the world, but that the woman has strengths that we can't do without as well.

I think it is not just men, though, people in general have taken on the thought that we are all replaceable and that money is more important than people. I know we need money to survive but it needs to be balanced with the fact that relationships with one another can offer priceless things.

Hey Lisa.. been awhile. You always seem to mention something relevant to what's been running through my mind at any given time.. I won't go into any details on that here, but just to say that I think the idea might be more to stop thinking about why someone else won't change, and start living for ourselves (women). Enjoy the time with each person that may breeze through your life, or be there for the long term.. "There's nothing safe about this life" and "Love the one you're with". =) If the one you're with isn't really with you, then go spend your time with someone who wants to be... It feels good.

    Peace

probably the same time the women do the same. If you generalize, women do the same, though the percentages of is higher in men I'm sure.

It's about the individual. How do people make decisions on if a man or woman is the type person they are looking for? No book on right or wrong, but I can generally tell with my friends through the years whether their latest significant other is temporary or not. It's usually pretty obvious from afar, but when you are in the relationship, not so much, lol

human beings should *never* be treated as disposable, acting in such a way is a lack of decency. and it's wrong for either gender to do. being an asshole isn't gender specific.
