Iraqi history has been eroded. It's a shame but most of the artifacts are being sold on the world black market to the highest bidder.
I would like to visit Iran too as I have heard it is a very nice place to visit.
You should visit Beirut if you would like an experience never to be forgotten. Also, the red sea either around Egypt, Saudi Arabia or Yemen are beautiful places to visit.
If you are in Lebanon, the trip to Syria is very short and worth it. The country is so cheap you will literally cry.0 -
Well in any event Iraq is a mess from every angle, the current US political system has become a mess, and those that support their disaster of a plan are also messed up.Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

I was just going to go on record that Bush would be seen as a failure and that this period of time seems to be defining era where politics became so partisan and ugly IMO. But... I really appreciate the intelligence pro and con that your can find on this board.
makes you wanna just sit back, grab a glas of red wine, put on your favorite "boots" and do some real thinkin'

Kann wrote:Or you are confused with the word : figuratively.
In any dictionnary humane means :
"marked or motivated by concern with the alleviation of suffering
showing evidence of moral and intellectual advancement "
If we have to use only the litteral meaning of words we're bound to stop expressing any feeling except "i'm hungry, i'm thirsty, i want to procreate".
If you can come up with a fool proof measure of intelligence, you will make psychologists really happy.
Likewise, if you can come up with an uncontested moral code, you will make politicians very happy.
But the word used was "human", not "humane", and like "civil", "humane" is a matter of opinion.I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Your nature is to do harm, mine is to love truth, and to make it public in spite of you. - Voltaire0 -

Alcohol inhibits the frontal region of the brain, called the executive region, for it's role in higher intellectual thought. I would suggest that drinking before a serious decision is probably bad.I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Why do you understand why it is used?SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.0 -

It could also result in a false alarm.

To protect our own, you advocate by any means necessary. Doesn't every country have the right to protect their own? It can't be reserved just for the selected few. To me this is where Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice failed the American people. Terrorism is not a defeatable country, its a state of mind, so we just keep deteriorating until we are morally no better than that which we claim to be fighting. So where are we headed, what state of mind are we guiding the global community?SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. A little more of what I'm saying

"Oil prices to jump to 200 dollars a barrel if USA invades Iran, Chavez says
Oil prices will jump to $200 a barrel if the US invades Iran, which would cut off supply, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said.
"If the US happens to invade Iran, oil will not just reach $100, but $200 per barrel," Chavez said. "Not one drop of oil will leave Iran" in an invasion.
"The same would happen here," as the people of the country will halt exports, he said.
Hugo Chavez, who met Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad twice this year, said November 11 that he was going to make another visit to Iran in the next several days.
Oil prices of $80 to $100 a barrel are "fair" and Venezuela will seek to keep prices in that range, Chavez said.
"We seek stabilization at $100 a barrel for several years," Chavez said at a press conference on Wednesday in Caracas. He said prices over the past 30 years were "very low" and that $100 oil today was, after inflation, similar to the $30 oil experienced in 1973 and 1974. "
Right or wrong. That is how it's going to play out. Not mention China getting agitated.Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

jlew24asu wrote:why? do you need to gather information from me? waterboarding isnt done when people get bored or for shits and giggles.
easy on the font. we can all read and see just fine.
um, 'cause you're the one saying it's not torture. if it's not, then maybe you wouldn't mind demonstrating how easy it is to endure.
maybe you DO need larger fonts. you seem easily confused."Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States, Barack Obama."
"Obama's main opponent in this election on November 4th (was) not John McCain, it (was) ignorance."~Michael Moore
"i'm feeling kinda righteous right now. with my badass motherfuckin' ukulele!"
