congratulations, you've finally successfully defined liberalism! arrogant, dumb, and ignorant.
I will say, you left out guilty, self-conscious, and the uncontrollable desire to be accepted. but that all manifests itself in arrogance, so you do have it covered. And you ask me what I want this year

Our nation began with Christianity. It has slowly given Christianity up.All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.

Really? How about Iraq? Is the damage caused so far not significant? It doesn't matter if you're male, female, or confused; black, white, brown, red, green, yellow; gay, lesbian; redneck cop, stoned; ugly; military style, doggy style; fat, rich or poor; vegetarian or cannibal; bum, hippie, virgin; famous or drunk-you're either an asshole or you're not!

I think you may be right. In fact I'm pretty sure that GW made that abundantly clear a couple of years ago.
I'm not all that keen on martydom either, but there are thousands who would glady rush headfirst into the lions den.It doesn't matter if you're male, female, or confused; black, white, brown, red, green, yellow; gay, lesbian; redneck cop, stoned; ugly; military style, doggy style; fat, rich or poor; vegetarian or cannibal; bum, hippie, virgin; famous or drunk-you're either an asshole or you're not!

3,000 dead troops over four years? That is extremely small in warzone terms.
250,000 Iranian troops were killed in four years when they attacked Iraq. 500,00 were killed in the entire eight year war.Chicago '98, Noblesville '00, East Troy '00, Chicago '00, Champaign '03, Chicago '03, Chicago1 '06, Chicago2 '06, Milwaukee '06, Chicago1 '09, and Chicago2 '090 -

Ok, but what about the hundreds of billions of dollars sunk into the war? What about the deep divide that it has created between left and right in the american population? What about the prospect of placing further strain on american resources by sending more troops in and possibly maintaining a presence there for the next couple of decades?
You don't consider any of those things damaging to the 'American Empire'?It doesn't matter if you're male, female, or confused; black, white, brown, red, green, yellow; gay, lesbian; redneck cop, stoned; ugly; military style, doggy style; fat, rich or poor; vegetarian or cannibal; bum, hippie, virgin; famous or drunk-you're either an asshole or you're not!

two days ago I was with a friend of mine, sitting in a bar, talking about everything and than came America on the topic list.
He's finished the history college...
From our constatation there is NO GREATER empire than U.S.A.!
And really when you take all the qualities that USA has (there's no country that could harm you -USA-) and it's true.
That's not fact you should be proud of, but I know it from here, from Europe, that every country keep their mouth shut when it comes to talk against USA.
My country is small one next to Italy, it is Republic of CROATIA (I wonder if you know where is it situated on the world map?!).
We here have large amount of fresh, clean water springs (we still can drink water from the pipes in our home or at our squares (from fountains).
And we are all in kind of fear of you Americans, ---- now you're fighting others for oil but for 5 or 10 yrs you'll come to us and fight us for the water we have!
Do you get what I'm trying to say here?!
:!
I understand exactly what you're trying to say. What you've said epitomizes your lack of understanding of the world around you and further solidifies America's status as a world power. Actually, you sound more like a nutjob.

First off, you have absolutely no clue what an 'Empire' is.
Second, the divide has always been there.
Third, again, we're the good guys. You of all people, being an Aussie, should know that.
Lastly, we should crush the insurgency with Bush's new plan. A plan that all liberals should be thrilled to hear about because not only of it's thoroughness through explanation (which somehow equates to a good plan to a liberal), but also it's "change of course." This probably will not be accepted as a "change of course" because it isn't the course liberals want. But then again, that's liberalism for ya.
I'm still not sure most people even understand that the insurgency is taking place almost entirely around the city of Baghdad. But then again, that's the media for ya."Sarcasm: intellect on the offensive"

Really? Please elighten me then.ThumbingMyWay32 wrote:Second, the divide has always been there
But was it always this deep? I can only judge by the impressions I get through the media, but it seems that the polarisation of the american people is stronger now than ever before.ThumbingMyWay32 wrote:Third, again, we're the good guys. You of all people, being an Aussie, should know that.
You're the good guys from your point of view.
You're kidding yourself if you think that the Australian public are on your side. I personally have no idea what the right solution for Iraq is. Maybe sending more troops is the answer, but I feel very stongly that there is absolutely no need for Australia to be involved. We didn't need to be involved from the start. Our presense there is little more than a token show of support anyway, but its enough to make our country a target for the growing number extremists that the war in Iraq is generating around the world. I think my veiw is shared by the majority of Australians.

If you think there's not a country that can do any significant damage to the US, your eyes must have been closed.
Or have you forgotten about 9/11? That wasn't even a country, just a group of people.
Do you seriously think there isn't a country that can do any damage if even a small group of people can cause the biggest tragedy of US history so far?THANK YOU, LOSTDAWG!
