That's valuing "freedom of speech" (as you see it) there. You have it but fuck everyone else.

 he's not suggesting anyone else hasn't got the right to freedom of speech just pointing out the hypocracy of the statement..

"...stop me..." yeah? what's wrong with that, he's not saying he can't SAY what he said, just that's it's not going to prevent him from responding, where's the argument?

By his warped definition of freedom of speech, he should be letting all that others say wash off his back. He is angry with the other person for exercising the very same freedom of speech that he made his initial comments under.

I think you're grasping at straws, it was simply a response pointing out the hypocracy of the initial statement... not an attempt to preclude him from the discussion... but I'm bored of this now so I will preclude myself as is my right to do so ;)

however you came to that conclusion is a mystery to me, but as UKDave has pointed out further down the thread, i was pointing out the hypocracy of the original poster telling me "you are not from this country so this post is not for you!!" and then supporting a politician who is campaigning against his 'freedoms' being encroached upon...
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Nobody outside of the US VOTES for your president but we are all affected by the choice so of course we have a right to comment numbskull

Feel free to come and debate about the relative merits of other bands / sports etc and we won't say it's got nothing to do with you... what makes you so uncomfortable about this? that our opinions might be different?

I can't really get pissed off with the fact that your country restricts your rights on this issue so much. I don't really care too much and don't think it's my place to meddle in your domestic policies. As long as my country doesn't become like yours in those ways, I have no business in it.

I am indeed MORE concerned about our fucked up government but it doesn't mean I can't be concerned about your's too and comment on it if I so wish...

And they are not irrelevant, how the US is seen and perceived by the rest of the world is entirely relevant, it's that type of intraspective thinking that causes problems

The issue that he originally started condescending on was the gun laws WITHIN the United States and the Constitution and freedoms that come from the Constitution. These freedoms do not apply to Scotland or its citizens. These are domestic issues. These have nothing to do with him not being a citizen of the United States. Can I say it in an easier way?

question: why can Americans comment on world affairs (see: Iraq and Iran) but those outside the US are not allowed to comment on US affiars...?
