Still need to see how the senate does. Virginia wanting recount? Dems ahead there....
  • everyone on tv keeps saying that the person trailing before the recount never wins it. webb should take this race.

If that's the case, the dems should get Montana as well! The Senate would then be theirs. But let's not jump the gun......

the Republican incumbent is not admitting defeat though, with 99% of votes counted and the Dems ahead of 3000 votes.

hopefully, Virginia will not be another Florida!

Dems are ahead in two of the three precincts that haven't finished yet.... so... as you say, fingers crossed!

Montana - dems lead in 3 precincts, reps in 1, 1 is a dead heat and 2 are still 0%... So...... everything still open here as well!

Doesn't a recount kinda imply that the people counting the first time are mildly retarded?

It's not like we're counting electrons in the outer shell of an atom by hand. They're votes. They're big.

The recounts in the presidential elections left me feeling the same way.

    A nation of fucktards.

right, so what does this mean then?

yeah. There's a law in Virginia where the defeated candidate can obtain a recount if there is a discrepancy of less of 1% of the total votes, like in this case.

Oh, it looks like that the Dems are up only by 2000 votes in Montana now, with 90% votes counted.

I just woke up after a very long night. I had to double check to make sure the Dems took control over the House. In past elections I went to bed thinking things went one way but things went another way by the time I woke up the next morning. I stayed up until about 1 AM. I still have my fingers crossed hoping the Dems sweep and take the Senate too. I'm also happy because NY elected a democratic governor for the first time in 12 years.

I've never seen so many people voting before, especially in a non-Presidential election. The lines were very long. The parking lot at my place of voting was totally full and I had to park far away from the building. It took about an hour to vote and usually only takes about 5 minutes.

Anyhow, it's a great morning today :) . It's about freakin time. Yeah I'm sure the Republicans will be in hiding this morning :D .

the one "whore"? that's very mature.

I don't know why the conservatives would "hide" either. Did you guys hide when Bush beat Kerry? That's just the way it goes. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. I guess we'll see how much "better" the Dems handle things now.

'Analysts say control of the House will allow Democrats to choose to launch inquiries into the handling of Iraq, and could lead to significant changes on domestic issues like taxation and health care.'
