Good guys don't torture. Don't we see ourselves as the Good Guys? Torture is something we think of when we think of Nazis and Soviets and terrorists.
In order to defeat... do not become them. If you do... you have failed.

    I completely agree.

that said, if it comes down to stopping another 9/11 I gotta admit it's a grey area.

How about this: If you feel you need to go to that level to extract information and you are 100% sure you have the right guy and he has information that you are 100% sure could save hundreds of thousands of lives....

get a warrant, put it in writing. If you are truly doing the right thing there's no reason not to right?

I mean you're not just torturing people for thrills..

    are you?

I just hope you're never mistaken for a terrorist.

Anyway, I'm against it. Even if the terrorist is a real meanie!

Blond hair blue eyes and in the army. Im not worried about me being mistaken for anything other than what I am.

Im neither for it nor against it. I look at like I do many things, depends on the situation. Sometimes drastic situations call for drastic measures.

You are tied to a board, your ankles, wrists, chest and head strapped firmly down. Water pours onto your face, flows up your nose, into your mouth, down your throat and fills your lungs and stomach. You gag, choke and struggle for breath.

    This is waterboarding.

The CIA uses waterboarding to try to extract information from detainees in the ‘war on terror’. President George Bush calls it a ‘necessary tool’. In reality it is torture.

If you dont want to be in this situation maybe you should stay away from others who want to run airplanes into buildings, blow themselfs up in the name of god, hurt innocent people, and other things like that.

I subscribe to this... where is that web site?

The minute we become like our enemy is the minute that they can declare victory. We are not savages but a civilized nation and civilized nations do not torture people. So if creating these "24"-like scenerios helps you sleep better at night with the thought that you are all on board with torturing another human being that that is your right. I personally sleep better at night knowing that I completely disapprove of this barbaric behavior.

Now I don't have to type anything. :)
