It's all the same shit regardless of who's elected.
If we think "Bush" is the problem, we really don't have a clue as to who owns & controls this country.A child's rhyme stuck in my head...
It said "Life is nothing but a dream."
I've spent so many years in question
To find I'd known this all along.0 -

Why couldn't he come out at the Dem's Convention and said he was lied to by Bush croines and he now regrets what he did... Sorry but its a little too late. Give me a break he give Obama an endorsement two weeks before election.
And now Obama says he will be a part of his admistration in some capacity...
What kind of message does that send. I guess if Obama want someone to throw under the bus, then the General is your man...
Powell.
I agree with you that Powell should have communicated a reason, regret or an apology to the interested public, but whatever... Did he and I missed it?
I perceive the Obama Powell thing as the public gesture of reaching over the proverbial aisle...
And I haven't the faintest idea why Powell's endorsement is getting me to share comments on the train...
I just felt like he really got the shaft like everyone did from the Bush Admin
Maybe Powell represents to me the "well intentioned". And they took advatage of that..
I remember why I feel some empathy to Powell now, it was the Frontline episode Bush's War.0 -

I got to see it twice, The Frontline, which was helpful. Its so exhausting to follow all of this over the years. That reminds me I need to get some more excedrin extra strength!0

Wait, my liberal friends tell me this guy is a lying sack of shit who peddled us a phony war.
Should I believe him now?

By comparison, Obama is at 54%, McCain at 53%... Bush around 25% or so.
Anyone who thinks an endorsement from someone as respected as this will not help Obama is crazy. All the rusted signs, we ignore throughout our lives, choosing the shiny ones instead...

Yeah, no way he actually weighed out the issues. It's not as if he explained why he'd be voting Obama.

How many white liberals has Powell supported in the past? Don't bother trying to find out, we all know the answer.0 -

Yes, surely the matter of race would totally out-weigh his ideology. I hope you realise how gigantic an ass you sound, I'm guessing not though. My Pearl Jam Photos

Yeah because blacks are voting overwhelmingly for McCain. If you can't take the facts resort to name calling.0 -

So can you answer his question? Who are they?0 -

White liberals? Jimmy Carter, for one.
EDIT: Also, I'm not really sure why you're worked up. He said a major part of this decision was due to the Republican Party's direct path straight into the gutter over the past decade. Considering he's a moderate Republican, is it surprising that he doesn't see much in the party to like? Considering you're voting third party, I'm surprised you don't agree with that assessment.0 -

I can't believe that the Rush crowd is making this a race thing...
They are basically saying that an Army General is saying that voting for a black guy is more important than the good of the country.
I guess Lieberman picked McCain because he was white? My whole life
was like a picture

This frankly pisses me off.
I can't remember if I read this here or somewhere else, but how many people bring up race when a white person endorses McCain? Race should have NO place in the discussion of this endorsement.
And to say that all blacks are simply voting for Obama because he's black, is also B.S... Kerry got 88% of the black vote 4 years ago... new flash, blacks usually vote Democrat, regardless of the candidate's race. All the rusted signs, we ignore throughout our lives, choosing the shiny ones instead...

Even if blacks were to vote for McCain you would STILL find some issue or problem with them voting Republican. Face reality blacks have never voted majority for the Republican party.
Even if we had a black person running for President on the Republican side they would STILL vote for the Dems. Here in MD Michael Steele who is black ran for the Senate but STILL lost to Ben Cardin (Dem) in 2006 who happens to be white.
