So at this point, I'm really not caring about this forum. This isn't a Pearl Jam forum, this is Jlew's forum and people that think like him.

    That's interesting.

I always found the American spirit to be rather fascinating. But scary at the same time. I should post a disclaimer every time I talk about America; THIS IS NOT INTENDED TO BE ANTI-AMERICAN. Just to clarify. We don't have Canadian Fries anywhere in Canada. Well, not that I know of. As I'm sure you don't in Australia either. For whatever reason though, in America you have American Fries. The nationalism is just incredible. Freedom Fries. But not only that, many many things are prefixed American. It's All American. It's amazing. Fascinating.

Even in Canada. I know an American household when I see it. They hang Canadian and American flags. I don't personally know any Canadians that hang flags. I'm pretty sure the majority of flag-hangers are from other countries. See a lot of Brazilian and Italian flags and stuff too. You only really see the Canadian flag at schools, courthouses and parliament buildings. My dad used to have a small Canadian flag on his house, but he couldn't be bothered with it, so he took it down.

Yes, especially when the rules are completely subjective and enforced in a completely non-uniform way.

Nah, because Kat doesn't listen to my side of the story or anything. She just bans me, and when I e-mail her to ask why, she ignores me. Then she threatens to ban me over something as ridiculous as this.

I think you should be banned if you don't know who Rosa Parks is ;)

Kat is going to ban me because she has obvious bias towards some members on this forum and I refuse to apologize to Thumbingmyway for calling him "thick" after he continiously labelled me Anti-American.

Looks like I'm the one getting banned. If you can wrap your head around that logic, then well.... I guess you have some kind of intelligence.

I think we all tend to think we can change the opinions of others but we can't. We get frustrated and upset, which is actually ridiculous if you really think about it. Sometimes we all need to take a step back and breathe, lol. It's not worth getting upset or getting banned just because someone said something that is driving you crazy. Just ignore them. I know that can be an extremely hard thing to do and someday you'll probably have to remind me of the same.

We all have disagreements from time to time and sometimes we actually agree with someone that we normally don't agree with. We come from different countries, cultures and upbringings but we all love Pearl Jam so we all have something in common.

If you apologize and I know that is also a very hard thing to do, you will be a better person.

Oh, it sounds like what you're referring to is not battered woman syndrome, but learned helplessness. No matter what you do, you get unreal, nonsensical consequences for your actions so you learn to be mind-boggled, confused and stunned, to the point that you find you can't act. That's normal though! Most of us were raised in dysfunctional families and taught the same thing, my friend!

life is hard like that. ive probly gotten "time outs" from kat 5-6 times from things ive posted in this forum. i think i deserved every one of em too. but i dont make posts whining about it. so let it go man, on the scale of important shit in life, this ranks pretty low. they cant catch everything, but when they think someone's crossing a line, they cut you off to let you cool down. besides, it's a pearl jam message board, not the floor of the us senate. nobody ever claimed it was some sort of 1st amendment paradise... there are guidelines at the very top of the page. you break em, you go. but you're still posting, so quit whining.

"Come on guys. That thread was HILARIOUS! I cant believe it's gone..Ok for the record, since it's gone now, Ahnimus started a "why do americans hate all french people" thread. Or something like that. Since the whole thing ws just so silly, I bated him a bit and called them surrender monkeys, and made a freedom fry reference....as a fucking joke! Who knew? Save Ahnimus. He's just too funny!"

Talk about dumb. "I baited him". Shit you sneeze the word Jew and people like this poster have to call you a anti-semite. Funny how when it is a different race and the jokes fly, it seems to be a different story. ha ha

your sitting in the corner sobbing...bad attention...draw attention to yourself...but on your own terms..WHAT WERE YOU THINKING
  • I've seen more racial insults in this thread that Anhimus started than on any other threads before, in fact french are ok to insult, compare to blacks, hispanics, jews or whatever, insulting french is ok.

I feel bad that Anhimus had to defend this thread (or his point of view) alone...

I don't think i know what you mean, but on a message board it's hard to know the skin color. But i haven't seen much insult concerning black peoples around here, cause then the writter would get the fire from other poster. In this Anhimus's thread, Last Exodus clearly thrown out a lot of frogs or any kind of french stereotype insults and he was raised as a hero in this thread, that's my point.

edit: although when you start a thread about Rwanda, Darfur or Haiti (or else) yes it usually go straight to the last page in a hurry, specially when a horse die, or when a celebrity die.

Maybe you shouldn't take EVERYTHING that you see on this board as fact. Sometimes people use what is called sarcasm around here.
