You act as if everyone who is going after Obama now was backing Bush for the past 8 years.

I dont think you understand whats going on. But i'm glad you got mrs vedder and the gang in a nice circle jerk.

I'm just asking to defend his choice. What do Obama supporters say about a man who screamed 'change' and 'move forward', then right away starts to walk backwards.

If by right away you mean selecting Washington Insider Joe "I ride the train home each night" Biden...I agree.

Indeed, as I said in an earlier post, Rahm was second bad choice, Biden was the first.

But his supporters still give him a free pass. Infact no matter how poor his next choices are I think the 'pass' will still be given. I mean, it's hard to be critical of the messiah :D

    I know what you mean.

I hated the Biden pick...I'm ok with this one...time will tell on the rest.

all of his positions are right here, judge for yourself.

again, a rank-and-file democrat. The critcism I propose is that if we think Obama's desire is to move to the center, this move isn't really selling me.

I have not once seen Obama try to move to the center. I believe that it is his goal to move the term "center" as far left as he possibly can.

I'm sure AIPAC is happy, Obama has the 'dearest friend of Israel' as Chief of staff.

    Good job Obama,

I thought Joe Biden was the 'dearest friend of Israel' ?

You know if you keep looking up like that, you will end up walking into a wall that you dont see.

Joe Biden openly states his love for Israel and how he is a Zionist. Rahm is considered the dearest friend.

I'm just saying what they say and what Israel says.

    Whats your problem cubbie?

while i understand the disappointment of some with this selection, we must remember that this was his 1st selection and in fact it has not been reported that teh person accepted teh position. lets not throw teh baby with teh bath water. let's see who he selects for other positions.

we must remember that Obama has stated that he is going to pick people who will challege him and alot of people here cheered that, not i don't know if obama is doing this becuase he thinks that this person will challege him or becuase this person is jewish. and truth be told no-one here knows that too.

Really great to see Obama move to the center and reflect the overall values of this nation...

I always thought of him as a Bill Clinton "center-left" guy, and on NPR today they called him a "centrist".

So I wikipedia'd the fucker (lazy research, I know) and this is what I found...

    Political views

During his original 2002 campaign, Emanuel "indicated his support of President Bush's position on Iraq, but said he believed the president needed to better articulate his position to the American people."[8] Inspired by his pediatrician father, one of the major goals he spoke of during the race was "to help make health care affordable and available for all Americans."

Emanuel has maintained a 100% pro-choice voting record and is generally liberal on social issues. He has aligned himself with the Democratic Leadership Council and the party's centrist wing, but is not among its more conservative members.

In any case, Barack Obama basically just tore up all of those "Change We Can Believe In" signs into little pieces and is laughing at all of us. Which is still a fate better than Sarah Palin as President.
