    Did I say I ignore?

I read, I listen and then form my own opinions on the subject matter.

Sometimes it leads to disregarding, sometimes not.

sure it does. the theory is that bush did it. al-qaida wasn't on those planes. a missile hit the pentagon. bombs went off at wtc to bring the building down. and all that garbage.

after the fact sure. but initially, no. action needed to be taken immediately.

If I walk up and punch you in the face, you aren't going to find out why I did that. you are going to defend yourself, maybe even fight back. then find out why the hell I did that.

The problem is that we are even concerned with the why part. We just chalk it up to some bullshit reason and continue making the same mistakes that angered these people to begin with.

So anything Al-Zawahri says is pure fact? Al-Qaeda has something to gain by saying they did it.

Well sure, after you regained consciousness I would expect some kind of legitimate explanation:D:D

Okay, that was just a joke....just a joke. It was not an attempt to start some kind of macho pissing match. Lighten up.

    back to the subject..........

You'll have to pardon me for thinking you walking up to me and punching me in the face, my initial reaction to such a thing; and the planned hijacking of several planes, the atack of the Twin Towers and pentagon; are two extremely different circumstances.

What a ridiculous analogy. The world moves a little more slowly and methodically than a punch to the face on some street corner.

I really don't see how they are different. I attacked you. your initial reaction is to defend yourself and/or fight back. not sit back and wonder why it happened. and then react.

I'm not disagreeing with you I think. we both feel the why is important. but in the case of attacking afgah, was completely justified.

It was a preemptive disclaimer. Often people on the MT don't share my warped and slightly demented sense of humor.

Well, the difference, the way I see it is this.

When you walk up to me and punch me in the face, you are an immediate and physically present, in my face threat.

After the attacks on 9/11 there were no more immediate and physically present, in our faces threats; because they all died in the crashes.

It would make sense for americam citizens to react in a manner that demands they investigate and searched for any more possible immediate and physically present threats, in the country.

While at the same time investigating the reasons for the attacks.

Rather than simply reacting by attacking Afgan. Not that I think they didn't deserve a response.

Bush and Cheney already knew why we were attacked. And they spun the story accordingly to fit their agenda.

But a good portion of american citizens did not know why.

Attacking Iraq certainly does not fit into any form of reasonable or rational response to the attacks of 9/11. And that my friend, is the main point.

    ...
Actually... you punched me in the face because I have been in your house for the past 5 decades... eating up your food... leaving the water running... basically, sucking up your resources. You don't see any of the benefits because I'm paying your landlord... who is still having you pay the rent and utilities. I also pit your neighbors against you and tell you I'm you friend... while I'm been working under the table deals with your neighbors to keep you all feuding. And things are done the way I see them... not you.
I sort of had to have a clue that this would eventually happen... but I didn't, because I am clueless and never bothered to ask you is my stay was welcomed.
    ...
So, now... the proper reaction for me to take is to ransack your place... destroy the heater, plumbing and air conditioner... set fire to your bed and have the rest of my family move into your place so you won't punch me again.
Okay.. makes sense to me... I'm clueless... remember?
