I agree its good for children to learn many languages but what he is saying is flat out fucked up.
Like I said in another thread, most europeans speak many languages b/c the countries over there are very small and close together like our states are.

Everyone who comes to live in this country should be required to learn english.
Our public signs, directions, billboards etc.....should be in English.
But, I do believe it would be a positive thing for languages like Spanish, French, Japanese, Italian, Chinese and German to be learned and learned well. We have had language classes in our schools for a long time. I learned quite a bit when I was in school. But most people/kids don't take it seriously and learn just enough to pass the class and then forget all about it.
Nothing wrong with expanding our language arts. it's good for the mind and for the soul.0 -

Ummm... he is not saying that at all... In fact he said the he agrees that immigrants should learn english, and that we should learn languages not because immigrants won't learn english, but because it would make us more capable in the world.My whole life

i think some people dont realize the majority of the Western Hemisphere is spanish speaking... i think it is IMPERATIVE for our current and future American generations to become multi lingual, especially in Spanish
