I don't know about everyone else, but I could go for a full band/electric set in a intimate environment such as the Fillmore over say...MSG any day of the week (let the flames begin).
    agreed ... smaller venues.

Please play Salt Lake City, it's been over 10 years...

and don't bother with the Delta Center (Now the EnergySolutions Arena, where the Jazz play) that arena sucks for concerts. I'm going to see Metallica there on Monday and am skeptical as to how it'll sound.

The E center might be okay, but Pearl Jam seems like a band that would be awesome to see outdoors...so here is my vote:

Red Butte Gardens in Salt Lake City, UT...

beautiful, botanical gardens that hosts concerts and theatre performances all the time...Bob Dylan played there just about a month ago...
    7/2/06 - Denver, CO
    6/12/08 - Tampa, FL

    beautiful is just an understatement

  • It would be great to see them at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. Right on the Atlantic Ocean, has the largest pipe organ in the world for BOOM to play. Just a train ride or an A.C. Expressway drive from Philly.
  • Jones Beach Ampitheatre - New York City is great but show Long Island some love. plus in my opinion its a better outdoor venue than both hartford or camden.

London Roundhouse - cos its a really really nice venue, capacity about 1800

    and

BIC, Bournemouth - Its a wide venue as opposed to long, so you can be at the back and still see really well, capacity about 6500 (and also cos its not too far from where I live :))

Sorry if these have been mentioned before but I was too lazy to read all the pages of the thread

Not sure about Glastonbury, its really close to where I live, but tickets are expensive and bloody impossible to get hold of....don't think I could stomach PJ being down the road and me not being able to get tickeks :o

  • Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom. Hampton, NH.

A small, intimate venue with a 2000 capacity, concert seating is all general admission. Its right on the beach overlooking the ocean.

Past performances include: George Carlin, Deep Purple, Buddy Guy, Megadeth, Experience Hendrix!, Motorhead, UFO, The Beach Boys, and Lewis Black does a yearly comedy show. Its a really awesome place.

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
  • Obviously Vicar St. Bob Dylan and Neil Young have both played a run of nights there.

    http://www.dublinevents.com/dublin-live-music/vicar-street.php

Designed and built to world-best standards, Vicar Street opened in the autumn of 1998 pledging to give Dublin a mid-sized venue that would 'punch above its weight'. The roll-call of performers who've graced the Vicar Street stage in the past year testifies to a promise well kept.

Those privileged to catch the visit of the mercurial Al Green still tell of how the earth moved (the singing Reverenddoes have God on his side).

Other legends had to make do with simply raising the roof, including John Cale, Marianne Faithfull, Ian Dury and the Blockheads, Lloyd Cole, Donovan, Grant McLennan and Robert Forster of the Go Betweens, Jonathan Richman, deejays Belle and Sebastian, Dave Brubeck, Billy Bragg and Giles Peterson.

For performers and audiences alike, Vicar Street exerts an appeal that boils down to physical attraction. This is no accident - every square centimetre of this remarkable complex was painstaking designed to provide the perfect viewing and listening environment. From the foundation stone to the final coat of paint there was just one consideration - get it right! The venue has superb in-house lighting and sound systems, with unimpeded sight-lines to the stage and no seat more than 44 feet from the action.

And then there's the little extras such as the magnificent oak-furnished surroundings, the pre-bookable seating, the fast and friendly table service and the secure Thomas Street car park right across the road.

    http://www.last.fm/venue/8946517

Vicar Street is a mid-sized venue located on Thomas Street, Dublin 8, Ireland. Its capacity is estimated at 950 for seated performances, and between 1500 and 1,600 for standing gigs.

Since opening in 1998, the venue has become a popular setting for a wide range of acts including stand-up comedy, drama performances and a variety of concerts. Major international recording artists have performed in Vicar Street (such as Bob Dylan in 2000 and Neil Young in 2003). It hosts the Choice Music Prize each year in February.

Because of its intimate size, the venue is one looked on with warmth by fans and acts alike. Many acts have also taken to recording some of their live material there, such as Josh Ritter, Des Bishop, Christy Moore and The Frames.
