Venue Suggestions For Next Tour

I was wondering if this could ever be of any help to the band. I hear there's touring to be done next year, so how about we get in now with our REALISTIC suggestions. We've all seen the wonderful venues they played in Italy in 206, on the dvd, so I figure it'd be nice to see the band in a slightly more 'unusual' setting. I mean Wembley Arena is ok, but a bit of a 'carachterless barn' all the same.
Give a brief case why it could happen, I mean who knows...maybe some of this info could be passed on and used......that's a nice thought.

Let's keep it realistic folks, i.e...don't bother with 'my garden/garage/bedroom'....etc....

I'll go first...Cardiff Castle, Cardiff. Wales. UK. :)

Capacity, usually 10,000
Pros, city centre so good transport links, dramatic, picturesque setting.
People who played there...Queen/Stereophonics/Green Day/Rolling Stones...amongst others

http://www.lindsayfincher.com/gallery/d/9885-1/cardiff_castle_4.jpg

http://www.dking-gallery.com/posters/sale/Cardiff.html ...(and you thought your PJ posters were valuable  )

Summing up...there's nothing like crossing a drawbridge to see a great band :D
I came, I saw, I concurred.....

    The Fillmore, San Francisco CA

    Holds approx. 1250

Sounds crazy but they could do a 10 night run over the course of say two weeks...i'd be down for sure!!! If I'm not mistaken, Tom Petty did a pretty lengthy run of like 6 or 7 shows not too long ago I believe. And The Black Crowes have done a 5 night run in 2005 and will be doing another one in Dec. of this year.

I don't know about everyone else, but I could go for a full band/electric set in a intimate environment such as the Fillmore over say...MSG any day of the week (let the flames begin).

So anything is possible and one can dream!

    Peace,

    RM

    :)

yeah that could work. :) mainly I'd suggest ANY other venue here than the Olympic Stadium. it's big, fair enough, but not very personal.

they should do more than one date here too, to make up for the lost time. :D I mean, even Iron Maiden is doing two dates!

I don't care where they play as long as they don't play @ the comcast centre ever again. Transportation is a nightmare and the beer policy is the most ridiculous thing I know.

I would say the top three outdoor venues here in the states are:

    1. Gorge
    2. Red Rocks
    3. Alpine Valley :)

Do they still have gigs here, the Stones poster is from the 70's! Looks a great place though and the capacity is about realistic for a Cardiff gig.

I'd love to see em do Slane castle but they'd have to get a hell of a support to do it, something like Nimijen 07.

Yeah, the other one could be in Tampere maybe ;)

And since we Finns have been PJ deprived for so long... (16 years - in 09) they should do lots of rarities here of course :D

Tampere yeah. also why not Kotka? :D (seriously.) a nice city by the sea, surely we could organise a nice not-too-big venue. good public transport too. :)

Yeah, they normally allow a handful every summer. There hadn't been one for years until the Stereophonics used it in '98, it's a real special place to see a concert, I could just imagine it suiting Pearl Jam to the ground.....*dreams*

Yeah, Ratina Stadium in Tampere would be a dream come true. I live so close to it that the sounds from tonight's Maiden concert will come through the doors and windows, whether i want it or not. The soundcheck already woke me up. I have my sauna tonight when they start so i may have to watch it for a while from the terrace up on the roof.

With Pearl Jam i might actually make the walk to the venue, but of course it will never happen.
