What is the coolest/weirdest 'collectible' you have?

I'm talking about one that you would not part with, no matter what. I have something that might be the strangest thing...and it was a present in an inner office gift party.

I wonder if anyone has the original 'Vitalogy' text from 1908, or whenever.
    Thanks EPOTTSIII!

I'm sure someone does. But I mean something directly related to the band--a guitar, pick, wine bottle, weird signed material, etc.
  • I have a really off the wall thing...not even sure I'd call it a collectible, but here's the story.

When I went to the Dallas show in '98 I brought along a tiny stuffed gorilla with a sign around its neck that said "Call me Ishmael. Please play Dead Man." Yes, I know I'm a tool, but I WAS young. Anyway, just before Daughter I threw it on stage...at the end of the song Ed picked it up and started singing "Monkey Gone to Heaven." After the song is finished he said, "This monkey's bound for the floor..." and threw it right back in my direction and I caught it! Still got it on my dresser.

So I like to think everyone at the Dallas '98 show has me to thank for the Monkey Gone to Heaven tag...

I have 2 half drunk bottles of water that Stone drank out of at the Brad show in Newcastle 2003. I sometimes sip on them while playing Guitar Hero so that the Stoney G DNA can surge through my body and enhance my performance ;)

EDIT: I REALLY do have the bottles of water. I don't drink them though :D

  • A friend of mine caught a flip flop sandal that someone threw at Ed at the '95 Austin show, which he promptly threw back into the audience and my friend caught.

My friend had it tacked to his wall for, like, forever.

It's really a weird collectible. it wasn't ed's sandal. It belonged to some random fan ... Ed simply touched it for .0000000001 seconds. And it ended up tacked to this guy's wall.

    Fucking sick, right?

Whoa ... I was at that show ... and loved that tag. I never saw anything related to a stuffed gorilla ... I was too distracted by fuckin' Rodman.

But if your story is true, I just wanna say ... thanks a lot for the tag! :)

I have Mike's Hamilton Jacket. It is such a boy's jacket, black, with a high collar, but I still like to wear it and remember him giving it to me... it also has a nice and cosy red plad lining...

It’s not a collectible, but it’s my most cherished item – my Who bandana, that I got in 1982 – and in 2005, Ed signed it personally to me, and drew a Who symbol and an arrow pointing to the WHO name in the middle. It’s really fucking cool.
  • I have alot of cool items but my favorite is a photo I took of a note I wrote on hotel scratch pad in a Montreal hotel room prior to the Montreal show in 2005. That night I had front row and took the note along with a VERY early copy of Ben Harpers "Black Rain" (it wasnt released until March of 2006) and these shows were in September 05. We had got the Ben CD from someone in Bens camp and thought Ed would like an early copy. I wrote a note telling Ed what it was and that he would like it especially "Black Rain" based on what was going on in New Orleans and Katrina.

we told him thanks for the great shows in Canada and that our last show of the tour would be Ottawa and that should he like the CD to play some of our requests. We then requested the following:

    Wash
    Don't Gimmine no lip
    and one or two others.

During an early part of the show that night i showed Ed the CD as he looked in my direction and he gave me a nod and said "later" Fast forward to Ledbetter and I wasnt paying attention and next thing I know hes motioning to me to throw him the CD.....I tossed it up and he looked at the note and said "really?" I just nodded and he stuck the CD in that marble notebook and watched Mike finish off the song.

The next day was the Ottawa show and again we had front row Stone side and we were all pumped because we had heard about the "Lip" soundcheck and we knew it was for "us"! However, it still wasnt a sure thing and we had forgot all about Wash. The house lights when down and the first notes of Wash filled that arena I had gooebump chills all over my body. It was an amazing show and an amazing night and for those that were there you have yours truly and a few of my friends to thank for that setlist as well as DONT GIMMIE NO LIP making it into the Pearl Jam set list rotation as we pulled it out of them.

I will never forget jumping around with my friends in front of Stoner as he sang "Lip" knowing EV talked him into it because of our CD and note. Such a good time those Canada shows were
baby boomers selling you rumors of their history, forcing youth away from the truth of what's real today.
  • My best collectable is page 1 of Mike's Vic set list. It has the black tape around the edges. I also have a ticket stub from that show as my buddy got a physical ticket from a lolla promoter to get in. I don't know anyone who has a ticketstub to that show, just wristbands. Also a great show.
There's no need to say goodbye

But if your story is true, I just wanna say ... thanks a lot for the tag! :)

It was easy to miss, it wasn't very large...if you have the vid you can see him throw something back in the crowd and you can hear him say "This monkey's bound for the floor" on the boot...
