whether it be 10-100 years from now...

    i don't think so.

some people fight to make this world a better place, and i SALUTE them for that, but honestly, this world is going down.

    do you agree or disagree???

I agree with most of the sentiment resting within the replies...I fear a grim future, I think we'll have to hit some type of a "rock bottom" before things get better. My worries...what if that rock bottom is place where we can't return from?

You think Aborigines and Native Americans had it better 100 years ago?

OK maybe that was too broad of a generalization. Some did yes, others, not so much. I live in BC and Vancouver was barely a town 100 years ago and so much of the First Nations here were hardly in contact with Europeans yet. But you're right, for the most part they were not better off 100 years ago. However, if you go back before colonization then life was probably better.

Anybody who takes a facts-based approach to this question will tell you that the world IS improving and has been for many years. Life-expectancy, infant-death rate, kuznet's curve (equality of wealth), poverty, and most other indicators of "a better world" have been improving for years and almost unquestionably will continue to do so, at least in the short term (5-20 years).

The better question goes as follows: are we better off in a world where we are all simply appendices to production and consumption, war is the basis for our economical strength, ignorance equals strength, propaganda influences peoples' decisions and ideas, and ultimately, is the "facts-based approach" as described above using the right "facts"??? Who develops those "facts" using whom's data?

Personally, I'd rather be living on an indigenous island, feeding myself and my family, and not worrying about who will take away my freedom. With one catch... I would need Pearl Jam.
