Police: Angry driver shoots egg-throwing teen
SUV apparently pursued boys after being hit; 14-year-old Ohio boy killed

COLUMBUS, Ohio - A 14-year-old boy who was throwing eggs at cars along with two other teenagers was shot and killed by someone who had been in a sport utility vehicle that was hit, police said.
Danny Crawford was killed by a gunshot wound to his upper body, Franklin County Coroner Brad Lewis said. He died in an alley on the city's west side early Saturday, authorities said.
The teens were throwing eggs at cars when an SUV that was struck chased them, Detective Tim Huston said. The vehicle stopped and several gunshots were fired, he said.
Police were looking for the shooter, who fled in the SUV, Sgt. Dana Norman said. The SUV believed to be involved was found a short time later near where Crawford died.
The other teens were not hurt, police said.

    not sure that a law has ever prevented anyone from carrying a gun in their SUV or killing some kid for foolishly throwing an egg.

    Seems to me that shooting at egg-throwing kids (as wrong as throwing eggs is), is a gross over-reaction.

    Eggs splattered on vehicle and on oneself, does not call for a response of gunfire.

    Only a blithering idiot would respond with gunfire, to what is a harmless (but messy) prank.

    Wow, that's pretty fucked up. They should make people go through psych tests before owning a gun.


    (Yes, I realize that's not going to happen. And in all reality, I'd more than likely be against one if it was an actual possibility. But something seriously needs to be done about guns being obtained by people without the emotional maturity that's needed to own one)

    Apparently you have never been hit with an egg. It's infuriating. The problems isn't that the guy got pissed off enough to shoot the kid; the problem was that he had a gun at his disposal with which he could shoot the kid. That said, anyone who fucks with somebody else's automobile should be shot. I fucking hate that.

    If you get infuriated to the point that you think taking the life of a child is a reasonable response to getting egg on your car, you REALLY ought to be in therapy. Anyone with so little control of their own emotions has no business with either a gun OR a car.

    I agree 100% right there. It was some kids who thought they were having fun. Of course, egg throwing pisses me off. But, not to the point of taking the life of someone. Congrats buddy, have fun in prison.

    Unconscionable. The kid should have had his ass kicked, but putting a bullet in him for throwing an egg at a depreciating asset is just ridiculous.

    that is just so sad, for everyone involved. tragic for the kid obviously, and sad for the shooter to have so much anger and hatred within in him to actually hunt down and kill a 14 year old kid for throwing an egg.

    i'm sure he was pissed, i would be too, but wow.

    This is the second kid in the last year or two to be killed for throwing eggs at a car. Kids, stop throwing eggs. I'll agree that the kid deserved a couple punches, but to kill someone over an egg is pretty sick.
