Police: Angry driver shoots egg-throwing teen
SUV apparently pursued boys after being hit; 14-year-old Ohio boy killed

COLUMBUS, Ohio - A 14-year-old boy who was throwing eggs at cars along with two other teenagers was shot and killed by someone who had been in a sport utility vehicle that was hit, police said.
Danny Crawford was killed by a gunshot wound to his upper body, Franklin County Coroner Brad Lewis said. He died in an alley on the city's west side early Saturday, authorities said.
The teens were throwing eggs at cars when an SUV that was struck chased them, Detective Tim Huston said. The vehicle stopped and several gunshots were fired, he said.
Police were looking for the shooter, who fled in the SUV, Sgt. Dana Norman said. The SUV believed to be involved was found a short time later near where Crawford died.
The other teens were not hurt, police said.

    not sure that a law has ever prevented anyone from carrying a gun in their SUV or killing some kid for foolishly throwing an egg.

    Seems to me that shooting at egg-throwing kids (as wrong as throwing eggs is), is a gross over-reaction.

    Eggs splattered on vehicle and on oneself, does not call for a response of gunfire.

    Only a blithering idiot would respond with gunfire, to what is a harmless (but messy) prank.

    Wow, that's pretty fucked up. They should make people go through psych tests before owning a gun.


    (Yes, I realize that's not going to happen. And in all reality, I'd more than likely be against one if it was an actual possibility. But something seriously needs to be done about guns being obtained by people without the emotional maturity that's needed to own one)




    I hope it was worth it dude. Could just gone home, washed it off, and punched a hole through the wall. Instead, you shoot some 14 year old. Your asshole thanks you.

    Apparently you have never been hit with an egg. It's infuriating. The problems isn't that the guy got pissed off enough to shoot the kid; the problem was that he had a gun at his disposal with which he could shoot the kid. That said, anyone who fucks with somebody else's automobile should be shot. I fucking hate that.

    If you get infuriated to the point that you think taking the life of a child is a reasonable response to getting egg on your car, you REALLY ought to be in therapy. Anyone with so little control of their own emotions has no business with either a gun OR a car.

    I agree 100% right there. It was some kids who thought they were having fun. Of course, egg throwing pisses me off. But, not to the point of taking the life of someone. Congrats buddy, have fun in prison.

    Unconscionable. The kid should have had his ass kicked, but putting a bullet in him for throwing an egg at a depreciating asset is just ridiculous.

    that is just so sad, for everyone involved. tragic for the kid obviously, and sad for the shooter to have so much anger and hatred within in him to actually hunt down and kill a 14 year old kid for throwing an egg.

    i'm sure he was pissed, i would be too, but wow.

    human beings can be such scary creatures sometimes.

    This is the second kid in the last year or two to be killed for throwing eggs at a car. Kids, stop throwing eggs. I'll agree that the kid deserved a couple punches, but to kill someone over an egg is pretty sick.

    This is just an example of why respect is so important, especially in these times where you don't know who is a pyscho or hyped up on drugs. Not that it is an excuse to kill, but if the kid didn't disrespect the guy and his car, he would still be alive. The reason kids like throwing eggs at cars is because it pisses people off and there is an element of danger in it because you might get chased for it. Well, the kid threw the egg at the wrong guy (a psycho). I feel bad for the kid's family. Adults (especially parents) need to teach their kids the value of respect and consequences (as we can see no consequence is out of the realm of reality).

    I got a buddy who's got an 03 Corvette. Somebody keyed the thing from one side to the other one night. He LOVES his car and I seriously believe if he caught the punk, he might have put him in the hospital, but not necessarily kill em. But who really knows for sure, he was pissed for like a month, then again an egg can be washed off.

    Am I the only person who egged people as a kid? Not only did I do it, but I did it two different times! One, my siblings and I took dozens of eggs and threw them out a bedroom window at cars that we overlooked on the highway. And two, a friend and I, on devils night, rang teacher's doorbells, ran to hide, then pelted them with eggs when they answered! (oh, we also soaped screened windows) Okay, maybe I was the world's worst and most psychotic teenager in the world! I doubt it, though.

    Still, some of you seem to have completely blocked the inner child!

    Children don't live out perpetual respect and rules! They are kids! That's why we don't let them drive, vote or make other important decisions on their own behalf. They are not small adults!
