Hunting is far more natural & humane than eating meat that comes out of slaughterhouses.
I'm not a big fan of hunting...meaning I won;t do it. That being said, I eat meat and realize where it comes from...so my distaste for hunting stems from only those hunters that do it for sport. Not much sport there unless you either arm the animals or take away the guns and make the sport hunters fight the animals in hand-to-paw/beak/whatever combat.
That would be a great reality show though.hippiemom = goodness0 -
I won't hunt either; but I sure eat meat and I sure like eating the venison that my father-in-law gives me periodically....so I'm not going to criticize hunting.
What about fishing? Does fishing upset people as well? Or not so much since fish aren't "cute"?Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio?0 -

Yeah, I don't fish either...without a supermarket, I'd have to be a vegetarian I think. I'm such a wuss.hippiemom = goodness0 -

Hunting a great sport.
You should look into grammar, too!... and the will to show I will always be better than before.0 -

I eat meat, but not all that much red meat.
I'm a gun.firearm owner, but not a true hunter. Although I do hunt on occasion. Only for food, never for sport.
I mostly just wanted to learn how to hunt properly. Never know when that skill may come in handy.0 -

Seems rather racist against white folks.
Hmmm...wonder what the reaction would be if someone created a thread like that, regarding black people?
I'm going to guess we'd have a complete and total overly-liberal, overly-sensitive, overly-PC meltdown:D0 -
two more things, for whoever wanted mountain lions released, some states have actually done this to help control deer populations. The two I've heard of are IL, and MO. The theory being that if they have an ample food supply they won't bother humans (not sure I agree). And for those who say it's only fair to disarm the hunters you aren't giving the animals most people hunt credit. They don't survive by luck. it's through their instincts. The success rate for people who go hunting isn't very good for most. The reason for this is to be successful it takes a fair amount of work and knowledge. If your under the impression you just stumble into the woods and start blasting away you have watched far to many movies. Go sit in the woods and see how many deer come wandering up to you or turkeys or coyotes or whatever. I'll grant you for the life of me I will never understand why someone wants to shoot an elephant or a bear. I wouldn't ever want to shoot a grizzly bear but I understand why they have permits on these animals. Male grizzlies will kill most cubs they come in contact with to cut down on the competition for food. No more cubs, no more bears. I think the survival rate on grizzly cubs making it to adulthood is like one in three, not completely sure of that but I think it's close. If their home ranges weren't shrinking this might not be the case but lord knows we need more starbucks . Our human nature, for whatever reason, says hey there something cool and beautiful, let's tear it down and put up housing and a mall and only leave a little bit of it. I would be much happier with ten times more animals around me and ten times less humans. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen. Again, it's a logical argument vs. an emotional response. I have no problems if someone says I don't want to kill, I won't eat meat. I just wish you'd look into what the runoff from all the pesticides and fertilizers that are used on fruits and vegetables are doing to water supplies in a lot of areas. If you go organic that's great, most people can't afford to. It's Not mentioned much, but ask any old timer if a tomato tastes like it used to or damn near anything grown in the ground. We have gotten real good at making our food look great but nutritionally it's not what it used to be. I'm not blaming vegetarians, I'm simply suggesting you get off the cross and realize your lifestyle has impacts as well. Are their dumb ass hunters I'd rather not be associated with, sure. Are their holier than though vegans, of course. I have dealt with both in my life and found that usually they were decent people who just needed a little more education, not to sway them one way or the other but to help them understand everything we do has an impact, everything.

The twit brought it to the hospital...
That's stupider than not killing it in the first place. All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.
