    the incident is unfortunate and saddening but a part of life. when compared to incidents like the wtc and oklahoma and plane bombings; we see the problem is people.

    oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    I don't think we can, Soulsinging. That's why I get so frustrated by these threads, we're ignoring the real issue at hand. It's in the nature of some humans to want to kill, why are we debating the means by which they accomplish their goals?

    Guns are most definitely the easiest means for individuals to carry out these acts, but I'm far from convinced that outlawing guns will make the sickest amongst us turn into pink teddy bears.

    everytime there is one of these tragedies you get both sides spewing there rethoric about who's right and wrong, but the fact of the matter is weapons in the hands of unstable humans can be very dangerous, i for one wan't guns far away from me and my family that is my choice. if i lived on a farm or in the mountains then i would have them specially for hunting .......

    Why?

    as a young kid i made 3 to 4 pipe bombs in an hour. we used them to remove tree stumps. when PVC came along the time was cut to 5 minutes each.

    fact. i got that from a program on the history channel but don't have time to find a link.

    On your own or with a bunch of friends, because you use 'we' too. But guns are more efficient and effective if you want to kill.

    edit: Just buying all the things needed to make a pipe bomb would take longer than half an hour in my opinion.

    i agree. but whenever the word GUN appears in the news this board jumps all over it. more people are stabbed and we never see a word about it. there was an incident a couple years back where someone held a hostage with a pencil to her neck. i didn't see a single thread about it.

    you can put a bunch of BBs in the pipe and make it a mass killing weapon. i'm not picking on you. just trying to show that there are other ways if a person wants to kill a lot of people. the fbi has an entire room dedicated to homemade guns. you can't remove the weapon unless you remove the technology from everyones mind.

    it wont. i dont want guns outlawed. but i do think there's merit in the argument that making it a little less easy to get a gun might reduce fatalities due to guns. the sick bastards will still be sick, but they can't take as many people down with them wielding a knife.

    but these take more effort and intelligence and creativity than to walk into walmart and grab a few handguns and walk straight to school.
