At roughly the same time (you know, some time ago), I guarnteed McCain would win this election and I still stand by that.
I hope your right (and you probably hope I am right), but we'll see who is kidding themselves, I guess.
I'll take something from Mr T....I pitty the fool who would want this job a recipe for gray hairs for sure. Oh then again McCain is already there.

McCain pulling out of Michigan Jonathan Martin
1 hour, 27 minutes ago
John McCain is pulling out of Michigan, according to two Republicans, a stunning move a month away from Election Day that indicates the difficulty Republicans are having in finding blue states to put in play.
McCain will go off TV in Michigan, stop dropping mail there and send most of his staff to more competitive states, including Wisconsin, Ohio and Florida. Wisconsin went for Kerry in 2004, Ohio and Florida for Bush.
McCain's campaign didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
Republicans had been bullish on Michigan, hopeful that McCain's past success in the state in the 2000 primary combined with voter dissatisfaction with Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm and skepticism among blue-collar voters about Barack Obama could make it competitive.
McCain and his running mate Sarah Palin spent the night after the GOP convention at a large rally in Macomb County, just outside Detroit. The two returned later last month for another sizable event in Grand Rapids.
But recent polls there have shown Obama extending what had been a small lead, with the economic crisis damaging an already sagging GOP brand in a state whose economy is in tatters.
A McCain event planned for next week in Plymouth, Michigan, has been canceled.
McCain just pulled the plug in Michigan. He's pulling all ads and heading to Ohio. I think the advantage Obama has in fundraising is starting to show. McCain can't focus on more than a few states because he doesn't have the funds. McCain is behind in the polls and in the money department. A really bad combo with a month left. The more I look at this the more I think a Biden screw up is the only thing that could wreck Obama. Palin can only help McCain at this point. She's set the bar so low that she can only improve. Or she could look so inept tonight that McCain dumps her tomorrow and this election takes another huge twist.
It's starting to look a little difficult for McCain, should Obama win Pennsylvania and Michigan, as it's looking like he probably will. Should Obama keep those two states, and carry Colorado, New Mexico and New Hampshire (three of the smallest states still in the ballpark of toss-up), Obama can afford to lose Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina AND Florida, four states with relatively high electoral vote numbers.
McCain's definetely on defense now. If he loses one of those states, as far as I see it, and everything else stays relatively stable I don't see how he can even get close to a win.

The main reason why I've felt from january that whomever came from the Democratic was going to win this election because of fundraising. The funds on thr Republican side ijust not there this year, as the repubs don't their candidate to win this Presidential election.
In 4 years hell yes.

All I'm saying, per capita, we in Canada spend less money on healthcare and we live longer.

Our government just ran our housing industry into the ground.
God help us if they ever get a hold of the healthcare industry.
the US counts for over 50% of the world's entire spending on violence. Instead of using our tax dollars to kill people we could cut it back just a little bit and use it to save some lives. Seems like a much more logical approach to society.
cut funding to Turkey, Colombia-two very egregious human rights abusers...and use it to save lives at home. Seems pretty straighforward to me.
i agree with sleightofjeff....government controlling healthcare, brilliant idea, yeah ummmmmm ok
taxing people who make over 250,000...hmmmm what about small businesses?
what about Obama's commy "Truth Squad?"
tax spending that will make Bush's spending seem like pennies on the dollar
why does someone who doesnt work for a living deserve healthcare? someone who mooches off the government? healthcare is a priviledge
what about his attachement to Ayers? Ayers who was the financial underground banker of the terrorist for flight 93 that was supposed to hit the white house?

Rev. Wright?
come on, i could keep going
Why does the most advanced country in the world let people go without care they need to survive? WE have the resources to treat every man woman and child in this country, but greed prevents that from happening and people die needlessly. gogo capitalism.

The people control the healthcare, insofar as the country is democratic yeah?
taxing people who make over 250,000...hmmmm what about small businesses?
what about the 1% that is a drop in the bucket to them?
what about Obama's commy "Truth Squad?"
not sure about this, what is this?
tax spending that will make Bush's spending seem like pennies on the dollar
corporate welfare is exponetially more than any social spending Obama could come up with. COrporations are the real thieves of the US treasury.,
why does someone who doesnt work for a living deserve healthcare? someone who mooches off the government? healthcare is a priviledge
Why do we tax things we need, like food and medicine, but not things that are harmful to the planet, like pollution.. So if someone can't find work we should let them die. Interesting view.

Keeps the greedy insurance company execs factor down that's for sure.
They're all driving around in high performance cars and living in mansions comprised of peoples death and suffering.
not such a nice reality...

you are kidding right?
healthcare is a priviledge
unbelievable... it is the 21st century and we still have people as heartless as ever... i am glad people that think like you are in an ever shrinking minority
and thats a big part of the reason why Obama wins in a landlside in a few weeks, as does the rest of the democratic party
He may win in a landslide, but you must admit that it's pretty sad that it took McCain screwing up so bady that gave Obama the win, not Obama being good. Like Winning on Issues, but McCain being soooooooo bad, fucking up like crazy.
Another thing, Obama also fell on his face during this whole economic problem. Unless you think he did a good job, then I don't know what to say.

how did he fall on his face?
maybe it was him and his team saying the "fundamentals of the economy" are strong, that we are a "nation of whiners", and that he "really doesnt know much about the economy"
obama has been saying since jump street the economy is a wreck and has stayed focused on the middle class and a fair restructuring of the tax code to shift the burden to the wealthy... he is also dead on about raising the SS tax capt from $96,500... and he is absulotely dead on about the majority of the problem is deregualtion and lack of oversight... republicans are thew champions of deregulation and scaled back oversoght, and look where that has lead...
you cannot let the nations financial markets operate without regulation and oversight... this is one of the major issues for me and one of the major difference between the parties

What are you talking about? People who need an operation for a serious condition or health problem can walk into an emergency room and get it for free, with almost no questions asked. Taxpayers pay for that. Nobody is dying any more needlessly than anyone else because of our alleged "greed."
It's because of capitalism that our standard of living is so high in this country. Competition in the private sector is what keeps the quality and standard of healthcare as high as it is . A government-run healthcare program would bring an end to that. Honestly, what doctor would want to work their asses off in Medical school, paying $50,000 a year or more for up to 10 years, only to come out and work for the government, where they can't set up a private practice and can't make the money their hard work has earned them. These people work their asses off and we just call them greedy? I certainly wouldn't want to work for the government after doing all of that. Waste of time.
I pledge to you a government that will not only work well, but wisely, its ability to act tempered by prudence, and its willingness to do good, balanced by the knowledge that government is never more dangerous than when our desire to have it help us blinds us to its great power to harm us.
