I never said the phrase "agree completely".... I said I have to agree and I EXPANDED on what I was agreeing with... if I had just said I agree then your argument makes sense.

I guess I should've cut some parts out, but why the fuck would I waste my time doing that? ;)

yeah, okay, you didn;t say the word "completely"- i stand corrected. you actually said this:

but don't say that you weren't agreeing to the flipflopping notion, becuse than you're just peeing on my leg and telling me it's raining. :p

    The funny thing is........

That's Obama's whole campaign wrapped up in a nut shell....with a nice smooth and tidy bow.

Everyone else seems to have understood what was being discussed in the posts. You're the only one to have a problem with it. I don't think I should waste my time anymore.

What's with these weird analogies? Last time someone had one about fucking cats or something...

someone complimenting another person means asskissing has been elevated to "an art"?

will you be taking another absence soon? ;)

in addition to asskissing, it would seem that some posters have also lost their ability to notice when someone is ignoring them. they just keep replying away! that is SO CUTE. :D

It's always better when you don't respond, my dear.

Opening your mouth only ruins it for you.

that's only because "everyone else" is either an asskisser or an ass. which column do you fall into?

that's from a book title. i didn't expect that you'd know it, for obvious reasons. (do outlaws read??) but you needn't have heard it before to appreciate its obvious metaphorical value. :)

did you actually READ her post? that's not complimenting. that's good old-fashioned "let me not piss off the board mafia" asskissing.

should be very soon, since nothing of any consequence is ever discussed here and i am already finding myself bored beyond belief. hence my recent vacation from this oasis of obscurity.

so let the asskissing- ok, let's call it brown nosing if that makes you feel more warm & fuzzy- continue unabated!

Don't worry. Next, she'll drag that huge wooden cross out of her closet and nail herself to it. Then we'll all have a hearty laugh.

Really? Everyone else? Way to slam an entire forum of people there, you lovely person, you. :)

So Angelica has traditionally been part of this so-called "board mafia", but now she's trying not to piss the "mafia" off? Whatever makes you feel better about not being complimented. :)

Of course, this would all be more credible coming from someone who didn't have a blatantly antagonistic quote from a poster, who - GASP! - happens to share her opinion, as her sig.

    Funny.

Our little Yammy. If nothing else, she can be slightly entertaining.

God bless her. Hope she never loses her looks:D
  • Interesting...sounds like Obama's a true supporter of the whole "vote for the lesser of two evils" school.....how fitting. And how sad.

One way to look at it definitely.

I look at that he will have to make compromises as President that incorporates both sides of Congress to get his bills through.

He is just showing that the "most liberal senator" in the senate is capable of doing this.

This vote is open to interpretation has he has not offered very overwhelming support of what he voted for, going as far to say he will review the bill once he's president.

    absolutely.
i am sure it is meant for all as well, just given his audience discussing specifics too. i see nothing wrong with focusing on the black community for this topic and audience, and it also having a further reach to everyone as well.

    Absolutely.

I wanted to make sure I expanded it to everyone, because this has been a growing problem in all races/cultures in this country. I know way too many single mothers (and two single fathers) who have had the other parent abandon them and their kids; and provide no financial support as well as the obvious emotional and day-to-day support. Way too many.

BTW, how, you doing ...you sweet thing ...you:D;)

well, exactly i also don't think obama should be faulted for being specific on race for this particular topic and definitely for the audience he was adddressing. it IS a big problem, and no...this alone will not solve the world's ills, but no one decision will. so why not take the time to address a problem, and hell yes....be specific since it definitely IS a very big problem in the black community. i think sometimes we as a culture avoid race discussions almost to the detriment at times. there is nothing wrong with seeing what is there.

beyond that, sure...we all know this is not an issue that only the black community faces, so hell yes...take these words and apply as necessary. there ARE too many families that both parents do not take the responsibility for their children as they should, and the world suffers for it. they are the future and all that, right?

and all is well, thanks. :)
life keeps on keeping on...anything else is PM convo.

anyhoo, i just really wanted to bring it back to topic but i thought it was a good speech and i agree with a lot of what is said here in it. and yes, i most definitely do not find fault with focusing on race when it IS an issue within that community.

Oh, I agree. Anyone who gets all upset about his directing his comments to the black community, is living in a fantasy world of denial. The problem is real and has been for a very long time. This is a fact. No one can agrue against that fact.

It is a growing problem in all races and cultures. The black community is a large portion of that problem. But the white community are certainly attempting to give the black community a run for their money. Unless both communities get their collective heads out of their own asses and take responsibility for themselves and their families.
